So, you want to dye your hair pastel? We don’t blame you. These hair color shades are oh so dreamy. BUT they’re also the most fickle shades of the rainbow that require lots of added TLC. But don’t worry, they can still be achieved with proper prep and maintenance. And lucky for you, we know all of the tips and tricks to going pastel in the comfort of your own home to get the most perfect pastel look for less!
But first, let's talk about hair levels. All pastel shades require a level 10 base for their soft pigment to really pop. If you aren’t quite there yet, pre lightening your hair to the appropriate level is a MUST. However, getting to a level 10 is a marathon, not a sprint. It may take multiple tries before getting to your desired level. To learn more about the process of bleaching, read our blog on all things at-home lightening to get the perfect lift.
How do you know what level your hair is? When we talk about your hair "level" it's just a standardized way to identify the lightness of your hair. When you're using a semi-permanent hair color, your current hair color is key to the end result. So if you're not quite sure how to find your hair level we're here to help.
Short Answer: Not without lightening your hair first!
Long Answer: If you want a light color like lavender, you may not need to be platinum to get stellar results. However, pastel shades will require a level 10 base. Since the tones in your hair are going to interact with any color you put on top - if you have a yellow-toned, level 9 blonde base and you use a pastel blue hair dye (like Periwinkle), the blues will mix with the yellow tones in the hair to create a green. The same thing happens on non-platinum blondes with Sterling hair dye (since Sterling has a blue base).
Think of your hair like a canvas! The darker your canvas, the harder it is for colors to show up when you paint over it. Hair is just the same! The lighter and closer to platinum you get, the more vibrant these super light shades will appear. Toning out any yellow left during the bleaching process before applying your pastel shades will make sure your desired shade shows up the most true to tone.
#AFPROTIP: Something you can do to counteract yellow tones without a toner is add a few drops of Purple to your mix! Periwinkle hair dye or Purple AF hair dye are great candidates. Purple helps off-set yellow tones to prevent a blue shade from pulling green!
Short Answer: Warm tones are the easiest, since they work well with the yellow tones already present in bleached hair!
Long Answer: Pastel pinks will go rose gold on golden blondes and other pinks will appear peach depending on the base color of the dye. In general, warm tones are going to work well on level 9 hair. Also, purple is the holy grail of colors since it acts as a bridge embodying both warm and cool tones. A pastel purple can actually help tone your level 9+ hair! Pastel aqua greens can work too, but you might need to adjust your recipe and add in a few drops of a purple or another shade to prevent it from going too grassy.
But if you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of the color choices, don’t worry! If you need help or personalized color recommendations you can always reach out and ask us!
Short Answer: It can vary anywhere between 4-8 weeks! It mostly depends on how you care for and wash your hair. But generally, they don't last as long as deeper or more pigmented shades.
Long Answer: If you love pastels and don't want to go a deeper shade and let it fade, maintenance is absolutely key, babes. Not only will you need to touch up your roots (since lightening your hair is essential) but you'll also need to recolor your hair often to maintain its vibrancy.
A simple way to upkeep while you wash your hair is by adding in a few drops of a more pigmented version of your selected shade to your conditioner (An example of this would be by adding in a few drops of Virgin Pink hair dye to your conditioner, if you’re currently rocking Frosé) to keep up our color in-between applications. It should come as no surprise that the lighter your hair is to begin with, the longer it will hold color. Be sure to keep that in mind!
#AFPROTIP: Maintaining pastel hair can be a commitment but if you aren't ready for a full on bleach out, you can always have a stylist create a balayage for you that's light enough for you to color on your own! Then, you won't need to touch up your roots every few weeks and you can do different pastel shades that suit your mood at any time!
Short Answer: Adding a few drops of a more pigmented shade to your conditioner in between applications + dry shampoo.
Long Answer: The bottom line is that the more you wash your hair the more your color will fade! The first thing to consider is dry shampoo! Grab some HERE to keep your hair feeling and looking fresh between washes. Secondly, you'll want to make sure you are using color-safe products (ie. shampoo and conditioner) that don't contain harsh chemicals, sulfates or silicones. And lastly, you can create your own color conditioner by adding in a few drops of a deeper version of the pastel shade you have to keep color vibrant in between applications! Plus, you can add a few drops of the darker shade to your OG mix to give it a bit more staying power.
Short Answer: Yes! It’s called Arctic Mist and it was made specifically for cases like this!
Long Answer: Arctic Mist is the same consistency as our dyes but it’s a completely colorless pastelizer made specifically to mix with our deeper shades to lighten them up as much as you want!. Simply add a base of Arctic Mist to a bowl and add in your deeper shade one drop at a time until you get your desired result!
@cheylist in Virgin Pink and Arctic Mist Diluter
Short Answer: Check our product pages! We have swatches on each one! BUT make sure to always do a strand test to make sure you’ll end up with a result you’ll be happy with!
Long Answer: Everyone's hair is different and results will always vary based on how often you’ve dyed, your hair health, your hair level - so a strand test is your best friend. That said, you can check our product swatches to get a general idea of how each shade is going to look on your hair level! They look a little something like this:

]]>We’ve come prepared with not only 5 ways to bleach your hair yourself, but also some tips for using Bleach, Please, to provide you with the easiest DIY experience at home. Prior to bleaching, there’s just a couple of things to ask yourself.
How does bleaching work?
And what is the goal I’m trying to achieve with bleaching?
So let’s talk about it! 💖
Essentially, bleach has one job and that’s to open the hair cuticle and dissolve any color from the hair. We’ve formulated Bleach, Please to be as gentle as possible - but at the end of the day, all bleach has the potential to cause damage since it opens up the hair cuticle, which can leave hair feeling dry or rough. Keep this in mind and take care of your hair both before AND after you bleach it! Every Bleach, Please kit comes with full instructions, but the basics of bleaching will always apply. Prior to bleaching, you'll want to give your hair PLENTY of TLC and conditioning! For step by step instructions + before/after care, head over to our blog on How to Bleach Your Hair Using Bleach, Please!
Maybe you’re trying to go for a pop of color, an all over bleach, a root touch up or just something fun and unique, we want you to feel confident in doing so! With that, let’s jump into the 5 ways to bleach your hair at home, like a pro!
@cheylist in Virgin Pink and Arctic Mist Diluter
No matter your hair level (brunette OR blondes), you’re going to need to bleach your hair to a level 10 in order for pastel hair dye to show up the most vividly. Make sure you’re in a well-ventilated room when you’re applying the bleach, and always wear gloves to protect your hands 🤚 All of your hair should be fully saturated for an even lift, and you’ll want to work as quickly as you can to ensure it all lightens to the same level! We also recommend that you stay ⅛ of an inch away from your scalp when using Bleach, Please for best results and to prevent any possible irritation.
Since this is an all-over bleach job, we suggest sectioning your hair however is most efficient for you! Need to use mirrors to see the back of your head? DO IT!🪞Just be certain to save the roots for last as they tend to lift the fastest and should be applied AFTER you’ve applied the bleach to the ends of the hair already. Be sure to also check your hair every 5 minutes to avoid over processing ⏳
✨ AF Pro Tip: You don’t want to let the bleach sit any longer than 45 minutes regardless of the level of lift, to prevent any serious damage from occurring. Bleach, Please is formulated with some of the best ingredients to prevent damage but remember… it’s still bleach, bestie!
After bleaching, be sure to take note that your hair may have a yellow hue to it and may need to be toned before applying color or else you may not achieve the pastel shade you’re going for. As your bestie, we can’t allow that to happen! Sooo here is how to create a DIY toner using Periwinkle + Arctic Mist 💛⏩🤍
After you’ve rinsed the bleach out, allow the hair to dry 65% of the way. While your hair is still damp, mix a few drops of Periwinkle in a bowl of Arctic Mist Diluter, apply this mixture on your hair, let sit for 45 minutes, and rinse. From there, you’re all set to color your hair with the perfect pastel… Just in time for Spring! 🌸🌿🫧

Looking for a low maintenance way to achieve a pop of color? 💥 Money Pieces are the first thing that comes to be mind because of how easy and it is to do with Bleach, Please plus it’s pretty low commitment!
All you need to do in order to achieve the perfect money piece at home is evenly separate your face-framing pieces of hair from the front and section them off. Once you’ve got this section secure, tie the rest of your hair back!
From here, simply follow the directions included in each Bleach, Please Kit to lighten those front pieces! Apply a stunning color over it and you just created a work of art! 😍
@lizblendz in Purple AF, Virgin Pink, Arctic Mist Diluter
Pssst… You can also do just your bangs using the same method! 👇
@__panterra_yoga__ in Cosmic Sunshine and Sunset Orange
If you just wanted to touch up your pastel or you’re going for a Billie Eilish vibe with vivid dyed roots, we got you!
@caitlyn_calupad in Poison
It’s good to know that we have generally thicker hair in the back of the head and thin and more delicate hair in the front, causing the back of the head to take a tad longer to lighten.
To best approach this, we recommend separating the hair into 2 different sections… The front face-framing pieces and the back of your head. However, if you’re just looking for color on the top of the head and not necessarily all of your roots, you’d just section off that spot and work at the roots where you’d like to apply the color 🥰
For all-over root bleaching, the steps are as follows:
Starting with the back of your head, you’ll want to clip the majority of your hair up and leave only the very bottom pieces of the hair in the back. Using a dye brush, you’ll apply the bleach to just the roots and continue working your way all the way up the back of your head, until the upper and under sides of each section have been covered in the bleach mixture ☑️
🏃♀️ Quickly and steadily, you’ll now proceed with the front face-framing section that we had separated earlier. Cover all of the roots until you’ve coated them in bleach and as mentioned before, check on your roots every 5 minutes to be certain you don’t leave the bleach on any longer than necessary. Rinse … and you’re ready to go in with your favorite pastel or even bold red! The world is your oyster, babe! 🌈
One of the easiest methods to bleach + dye your hair and one of our personal favorites… the split dye! 🤩 I’m sure you’re thinking that you’re just going to section the hair into 2 sections based on where the split dye is going to be (down the middle, split dye on the bangs, horizontally, etc) and you’re absolutely right! … See! You’re a DIY pro already 😜
Section the hair, follow the instructions provided and save the roots for last. We even love to see one side of the split left uncolored and only bleached. Yep, that’s it! Now for the fun part… the inspo!
✨ AF Pro Tip: You can even just bleach one half of your hair and leave the other half your natural color. This look is such a stylish yet effective way to add some color to your hair and still give the illusion of a multi-colored look!
@hadar_kawaii_hair in Violet Dream, Poseidon, Aquamarine, Neon Moon, Iris Green
@jeks951_ in Poseidon, Blue Jean Baby
@selinamirza in Electric Paradise, Virgin Pink, Space Cowgirl
@neg4tive_creep in Electric Paradise, Sunset Orange, and Virgin Pink
This method is actually most commonly used to remove a stubborn hair color but this also can help you achieve a blank canvas yet again, to pursue your new hue 😘
What you’ll need:
- Water
- Dandruff shampoo
- Bleach, Please Kit
To start, you’ll want to first attempt a color remover meant for semi-permanent color. If there is still color remaining, go ahead and get started with your bleach bath. Mixing your bleach and developer first, you’ll add in one good squeeze of anti dandruff shampoo (can be a cheap dollar store shampoo or whatever you can get your hands on) and then add in about ⅓ a cup of water or until the mixture appears smooth and not too runny.
Applying this mixture to the middle and ends of your hair (avoiding the scalp and roots completely) go ahead and cover only the color-treated hair and let it sit for no more than 5-7 minutes before you rinse. While you’re rinsing, we recommend using a purple shampoo to tone the hair at the same time. This gives you an even outcome and a perfect canvas to begin your new masterpiece!

Frosé is much more of a true pink compared to some of our other pink tones. If you’ve worked with diluted Virgin Pink or Electric Paradise, you know that these colors have a slight magenta/fuchsia and coral/peachy undertone respectively. But Frosé is right in the middle of the spectrum between the two, and doesn’t lean too strongly into either the cool or warm range! She looks stunning on warm AND neutral undertones, and eases any lucky head of hair into the world of color with stunning hues that make you want to pour her up as much as you can.
Everyone wants to go pastel - especially baby pink pastel. But getting there can be slightly trickier than it seems! When it comes to Frosé (and any pastel) your base is everything, and we mean EVERYTHING. You MUST start with a clean, platinum base for the true baby pink you’re looking for and any other base color will yield different results, or not results at all. If you have had a brighter color and are looking to transition to Frosé, you’ll need to completely remove your color with a color remover and make sure your base is clean before splashing on Frosé and expecting the baby pink of your dreams. That being said, Frosé is a true pink and if you’re ready for the upkeep, you can enjoy the dreamiest pink head of hair as long as you’d like!
Frosé is the baby pink stunner in our pastel lineup, so you’ll need a platinum base to get the full effect! On a level 8 blonde, Frosé hair dye will give a dusty rose, while level 7 blondes will see a darker, smokier rose - both are stunning. If you want a barely-there pastel and are searching for just a hint of pink, start with level 10 platinum hair and dilute with Arctic Mist Diluter as needed. Don’t forget to do a trusted strand test so you can be sure that your hair is at the level needed for that perfect baby pink. 👑
Since Frosé is a pastel stunner, consistent maintenance and upkeep is a must to keep that baby pink hue look its best. This hair dye tends to fade quicker than some of our other vivids, which is very common when it comes to pastel hair dye. You’ll want to keep a bottle on hand for frequent touch ups, and make sure your base color is a level 10 for best results. Luckily, our DIY friendly formula makes it easier than ever to add color to your conditioner, or do a quick touch up session in the comfort of your own home! On the other hand, if you’re looking for a quick pink blush to those locks that’ll fade out beautifully - Frosé is your girl.
Like our entire semi-permanent hair dye lineup, Frosé is easy to customize and can make a STUNNING mix with other pinks, and almost any other AF hair color! Since Frosé is a pastel hair dye and is naturally lighter than our other pinks, she makes an excellent addition to custom mixes, but keep in mind that if you’re looking for the true baby pink, she shines on her own. Let’s dive into some custom mixes with our fav pink pastel!
Start with a level 10 base and mix up a 50/50 ratio of Frosé hair dye and Electric Paradise hair dye! Electric Paradise is UV reactive, so this mix will have a slight tint of her glowing properties, but not too overpowering. It’s the pink of our collective Barbie DREAMS.
This one’s a head turner! This mix needs a platinum base. Start with two parts Frosé hair dye to one part Poison hair dye and you get this bright, coral, rusted pink. She’s unique enough to turn heads, but also falls perfectly in the range of the peachy pink that’s totally taking over 2024.
Virgin Pink hair dye is at the top of the charts year after year, and when you add Frosé into the mix you get this vibrant hot pink that will breathe energy into your strands. On a level 10 base, go for a 50/50 ratio of Virgin Pink and Frosé, and whew! This mix is definitely one for our bold babes, but you’ll want to pour it on a light base to get the true, HOT pink!
We can just hear the bubblegum pop when we look at this mix. Sassy, flirty, and the life of the party, bring this mix to life on a level 10 base with two parts Frosé hair dye to one part Wrath hair dye. Who knew our red stunner with our baby pink pastel could create such an electrifying mix!?
Smoky, lustrous, and magical. Sounds about right? On level 10 hair, start with a base of Frosé hair color then add just a drop of Ritual hair dye (or more if needed). Don’t forget to strand test before you woo anyone and everyone with that magical head of hair!
We LOVE seeing our Fox Fam proudly rock their colors, and Frosé is no exception!

Visit @pupculturerescue on Instagram where they post their pups weekly!
If a split dye isn’t calling your name but you still want to show off two colors at once, a color melt is your move! A color melt is simply starting with one color on the top part of your hair that quite literally melts beautifully as it meets with another color towards the bottom half of your hair! This stunning color melt is Girls Night hair dye and Periwinkle hair dye - and OMG it’s a literal dream. Girls Night and Periwinkle are on the lighter end of our vivid hair dyes, so you absolutely need to start with level 9 hair or lighter! Use our Bleach, Please hair lightening kit to get your hair to the desired level if you need, and always always do a strand test.
Looking to mix it up even more? 👀 Check out halo hair, it’s literally everywhere right now! A halo color placement is one color on your first layer of hair, and a different color on the layers beneath it. It gives a gorgeous peekaboo effect and the styling options are truly endless! This fiery look from @alexajdmakeup was made using Virgin Pink hair dye and Poison hair dye. We love this color combo, especially during the month of February when red and pink hues reign supreme. Lucky for you AF shades are made for creating these daring looks at home! Virgin Pink hair color is a vibrant hot pink and will appear as a magenta tint on brown hair, its most vibrant form comes with pre-lightened hair. Poison hair color has a slight orange undertone that will prevent it from fading to a pink. Poison will give a dark, subtle tint to darker tones of hair but will turn out most vibrantly on hair that is pre-lightened to around a level 8. Give it a go the next time you’re feeling spicy!
Now that you’re a pro at color combos make sure you tag us on IG @arcticfoxhaircolor if you try out any of these mixes or split dyes. We love to see you explore your inner hairstylist with our DIY friendly hair dye colors!
]]>Let's break it down! Each hair level corresponds to a different shade:
1: Dark black 🖤
2: Black 🕶️
3: Deep dark brown ☕
4: Dark brown 🍫
5: Medium brown 🍂
6: Light brown 🌰
7: Dark blonde 🍯
8: Medium blonde 🌼
9: Light blonde 🌟
10+ and above: Platinum blonde to platinum white ❄️
These are the darker shades in town. Level 1 is like the deepest, darkest black you can imagine, no brown in sight! Semi-permanent hair colors won't even make a dent on level 1 hair because it's just too dark for any pigment to show through. As you climb up the levels, your hair gets lighter, with level 5 hitting those medium to lighter brown hues. If your hair falls in this range, opt for darker, more pigmented colors like Purple AF, Wrath, or Aquamarine hair dyes for that rich hue! 💜💥
Purple AF hair dye on light brown
Now we're stepping into that light brown/dark blonde zone. Most of our deeper and highly pigmented colors work like a charm on hair at levels 6 and 7, giving you a shade or two darker than they would on a pre-lightened base. Get ready to rock shades like Violet Dream (my current favorite purple hair dye right now!), Sunset Orange, Phantom Green, Poison, and Ginger Flare hair dye for those bold vibes! 🌈🔥
If you're sitting pretty at level 8, you're in that sweet spot where Arctic Fox semi-permanent hair colors really come to life! Most of our AF hair dyes will pop vibrantly on a level 8 base, so go ahead and experiment with Electric Paradise - our UV reactive electric pink hair dye, or Iris Green - the *perfect* grassy green shade, for some serious wow factor! 🎨💚
Not quite platinum, but still light enough to show off vibrancy, level 9 hair can handle almost any semi-permanent color. Think Porange (pink-orange and UV reactive hair color), Cosmic Sunshine (our true yellow hair dye), or Neon Moon (the most electric yellow UV hair shade you could imagine!) for those radiant looks! Just be mindful of those yellow tones in blonde hair – they can give lighter blue shades a greenish tinge. Combat that with a touch of Purple AF, since purple cancels out yellow tones to add some balance! 💛💙
Cosmic Sunshine hair dye on Level 9
Welcome to the land of platinum blonde! With almost no yellow tones to worry about, you can rock any color under the sun! Have fun and play around with some Arctic Mist Diluter, and see how some of your favorite colors look as pastels. Pastel hair colors shine brightest on a level 10 base or lighter, so feel free to mix and match those shades to create your own unique style! Whether it's Poseidon, Periwinkle, or Sterling, your hair is gonna be poppin'! 🌈✨
If you're blessed with naturally blonde locks, figuring out how semi permanent hair colors will turn out is a bit trickier. Bleached hair tends to hold onto pigment better, so unbleached hair might need a little extra love to achieve those vibrant results. Stick to darker and highly pigmented colors like Purple AF, Aquamarine, and Wrath hair colors. For the best outcome, always do some test strands first! 💁♀️💖
GINGER FLARE GINGER FLARE GINGER FLARE! Ginger Flare dye on a natural redhead is STUNNING! It enhances your already enchanting locks, and takes your red hair to the next level. When in doubt, flare it out! If you want to try some new colors, use the color wheel to find colors that will compliment your red hair, like Purple AF. Avoid green hair dye or colors opposite of your specific shade of red. Always do a strand test to see how your red hair reacts to our semi-permanent dyes. But for real - why are you waiting to try Ginger Flare!

Listen up, folks – take it slow with the lightning process! Going from dark to light takes time and patience, so don't rush it. Gradually lighten your hair using quality products to keep it healthy and happy, starting with the crowd pleaser Bleach, Please. Don’t forget the pre-bleach and post bleach hair care, like Money Hunny hair repair serum, Resurrected shampoo and conditioner, and a luscious hair care mask like Pool Party (you and your hair deserve a little treat!). Don’t forget to protect your bleach hair from the sun with OG Hair Perfume and UV protectant. And if you're ever feeling unsure, shoot us an email at support@arcticfoxusa.com or consult a pro stylist. Your hair deserves the royal treatment! 💇♀️💕

Plus, you already know that with any Arctic Fox hair dye, you’re not only getting the promise of a high-performing dye that packs a punch, but you’re also getting a vegan, cruelty-free, DIY friendly and ultra-conditioning formula to ensure your hair is left shiny and nourished post dye sesh.
No matter if you're in your platinum era or rocking your natural brunette, Virgin Pink comes READY to give you everything from a bold pink to a deep magenta depending on your base. If you’re already at a level between 8-10 you can expect a true hot pink color payoff, while hair levels 4-7 can expect varying shades of magenta. Remember that the darker your hair is, the darker Virgin Pink will appear on your strands, or in some cases, Virgin Pink may even appear as a fuschia tint in the sunlight (absolutely gorg if you ask us).
We’ve got just the trick for that! Enter Arctic Mist Diluter, your go-to diluter for customizing the intensity of our dyes. We created our dyes to be as pigmented as possible, so when it came to our diluter we formulated it specifically to pair with our dyes and leave you with the best and most consistent color results (because no one has time for that patchy BS).
In a bowl, start off with a generous amount of Arctic Mist Diluter and start adding in small amounts of Virgin Pink hair dye, mixing intermittently until you have your desired shade. Keep in mind that the more you dilute your shade, the lighter your starting base will need to be to ensure that the color shows through on your hair. It’s basically the same advice we give when you’re looking to go pastel.
Short answer? Like a dream. But we’ll give you the rundown. Over time, Virgin Pink hair color fades into a lighter version of itself turning into the prettiest pastel pink hair color before fading away all together on lighter starting bases. We literally have Foxes dying their hair Virgin Pink just to get back to their faded shade, and you can see why. We never fear the fade, Fam.

TBH the better question is, what can’t you mix her with?
Due to Virgin Pink’s deep and vibrant hues, she mixes well with almost all of our hair color shades. Mix Virgin Pink hair dye with our blue hair dyes to get purple, mix her with our purple hair dyes to find deep magenta and violet tones, mix her with our yellow hair dyes to nail an orange or peach tone, or lean into the core color and mix Virgin Pink with other red and pink hair dyes to get a customized rosy tone.
Be wary of mixing Virgin Pink with any green hair dyes. Color theory 101: pinks and greens oppose each other on the color wheel, so if you’re not careful mixing Virgin pink with some greens could become a grey color or give a muddy result when mixed together. BUT, if you mix Virgin Pink with a lighter and more yellow based green like Neverland or Space Cowgirl, it can yield some seriously gorgeous results (see proof below). Just be sure to mix a small sample batch and conduct a strand test when mixing to ensure you're getting the results you want! Here are a few of our favorite Virgin Pink concoctions.
This is a mix best suited if your hair is a level 7-10. To recreate this stunner, start with a base of Space Cowgirl and slowly add in dollops of Virgin Pink until you achieve this jaw dropping rosy copper shade.
#AFprotip: Add in some Arctic Mist diluter to pastelize this shade to get more of a peach shift.
For this bold and smokey violet hue, start with a base of Arctic Mist Diluter. Then, add in a dollop of Virgin Pink and mix in just a few drops of Transylvania to help darken and tone down Virgin Pink’s fuschia undertones. This custom mix is best suited for levels 7-10, but for darker bases you can achieve a deeper violet by using less diluter.
We’re about to take a bleach bath for this one. This shade is an absolute showstopper and is totally on trend this year. If you’re looking to best match your hair to Pantone’s color of the year, Peach Fuzz, this is just the mix for you. Start with a base of Arctic Mist diluter, then add in a few drops of Neon Moon followed by just a drop of Virgin Pink to recreate this perfect peach look.
Short answer, yes. But you'll have to answer “YES!” to the following questions first:
If you answered yes, you’re ready to move ahead with the transition! Again, we always recommend a strand test before going for a full color cover up, but because Virgin Pink hair dye is highly pigmented, it should cover most highly faded colors with ease. If you’re feeling a little nervous about making the leap, email our color specialists a picture of your starting hair color for custom color advice. support@arcticfoxusa.com
Virgin Pink is a Fox Fam favorite for a reason. It's bold, it's bright and it feels (and smells) amazing. Whether you're looking to stay true to its vivid pink hue or create your own custom color recipe, Virgin Pink hair dye is an incredibly versatile shade to play around with. When you decide to say EFF IT and finally take the plunge on this bright pink, don’t forget to tag us in your selfies and videos on Instagram and TikTok so we can hype you UP, because you deserve it.

]]>💜 Purple AF is a beautiful deep, yet vibrant purple hair color. While it looks relatively dark, it will still show up as an extremely vivid, intense purple hair color on a lightened base. Hair level should be at least a 7 if you’re looking the brightest and boldest purple. However, Purple AF hair color on a darker base will still achieve a visible purple tint (especially in the sunlight ☀️ because she definitely falls in the range of vivid hair dyes)! In fact, Purple AF is one of our best hair dye options for tinting unbleached hair. Let us show you what we mean…
Purple AF on a lightened base is definitely giving… ‘Grape Goddess’ 🤤🍇
As you may notice, Purple AF hair dye will give a hint of a dark purple hue to a brunette base. It can even tint medium or dark brown hair with more of a deep eggplant or burgundy hue. Click here to watch this fox transform her brunette base into a deep purple!
If you’re not sure what hair level you are, take a glance below for a hair level chart! 👇
Levels 6-8 may be tricky to gauge what colors would appear best, so we pulled our favorite shades for level 6-8 hair for you here!
Now that you’ve officially met Purple AF, let’s just run through some other questions you may have about why this is quite literally the best purple hair color on the market.
Like we said, her fade is GORGEOUS. Our purples are formulated to fade in more of a pink range over time (and then eventually silver on platinum hair). However, a true purple like Purple AF on a platinum base can also fade … You guessed it, PURPLE! It’s important to note that the fade out depends highly on your hair level and undertones, so be certain to factor it all in and perform a handy dandy strand test!
Purple AF is practically flawless, BUT if you’re not paying attention to the color wheel, fading, hair health or hair levels, it might not achieve your dream shade. Maybe Purple AF turned out a bit too dark for your taste? Try washing your hair in warm water to help speed up the fade, or use some Purple AF hair color with Arctic Mist Diluter for your next application to achieve a more medium purple result! 😌 Arctic Mist Diluter and Purple AF is one of the most gorgeous mixes you can make.
you add more and more Arctic Mist Diluter. (ex: Far right is a base of Arctic Mist Diluter and just a drop or two of Purple AF) 💜🤍
Purple AF is a go-to when we’re looking to cover up another hair color. We love to paint over any pinks, greens and blues using Purple AF. Keep in mind, painting over blue will get you more of a burgundy depending on how faded it is! Our personal favorite is the way Purple AF covers Virgin Pink! 🤩
Like .. c’mon! 💕⏩💜
We get this question a TON and our gray-haired foxes truly love Purple AF. Since gray hair tends to be more coarse and the hair follicles create less oil, it does make it harder for the color to stick. However, we’ve seen a lot of success with customers using our more pigmented shades for grays, to achieve the perfect tint of color!
Now for the fun part! If you’re a DIY-expert and custom color fanatic like us, Purple AF is a must-have! She can be used to create some of the most gorgeous and unexpected color mixes.
Let’s jump in! 🏊♀️
This is one of our most requested Fox Fam mixes and of course Purple AF is part of the recipe. Start off with level 10 hair and mix together 1/2 ratio of Aquamarine Hair Dye + 1/2 Purple AF Hair Dye. The amount you use is going to depend on your hair length, but that’s your ratio to get this deep, gorgeous blue. If you’re looking to achieve a cooler blue hue, you’ll want to add just a little more Aquamarine hair dye!🌀🫐
Starting with level 10 hair, you’ll want to start off with Frosé hair dye in your mixing bowl. Add a drop of Purple AF hair dye and a drop of Ritual hair dye. Mix it all together and perform a strand test to be sure you’re getting this electric, yet soft purple color! ⚡️🦄
One of the HOTTEST colors to date. Almost every Fox we know has asked for this mix and it’s true, Purple AF is needed to nail it. This mix works on hair levels 8-10 and starts with Ginger Flare hair dye. Starting with a base of Ginger Flare, add a drop or two of Purple AF hair dye to get this highly sought after deep auburn mix! 🌅🥕
To get this stunning plum shade, you’ll want to start with a base level 10. Starting with a base of Wrath hair color, you’ll want to add a drop or two of Purple AF hair color until you get the perfect deep warm red! 🍓🍷This stunning mix could work for hair levels slightly lower than 10 as well since Wrath and Purple AF are two of our most pigmented dyes.
At first glance, this color looks almost unreal but we promise you can have her all to yourself. Start off with pre-lightened hair to a level 10. Your base is going to be Frosè hair dye, and you’ll add a drop of the not-so-secret ingredient, Purple AF to achieve this eye-popping amethyst purple! 🔮
@jamjam_beautyco used Purple AF over a brunette base

@kunailuv is rocking the Ginger Spice Mix! 🍊🐅
✨ In general, purple is a very versatile color simply because it’s a combination of warm and cool tones, made with red and blue. Just about ANY color or mix can include Purple AF for added depth.
✨ Feel free to leave the dye on for an hour… or a few 😉 Our formula is conditioning and non-damaging, so it’s like putting on a hair mask! Plus, this allows the colors to saturate longer to pull more pigment. Compromising color and hair health is never a struggle when you’re using Arctic Fox hair dyes! 🙅♀️💧
✨ If you’re coloring your hair blue and it appears teal due to some yellow undertones, just add some Purple AF to cancel out the yellow and give you a truer blue shade! We told you, she’s magic.
✨ Love blue hair but hate a green fade? Add in a touch of Purple AF to prevent a green fade, violá!
✨ Brassy/yellow tones in your hair when you were aiming for ashy blonde? Add a drop or two of Purple AF and Poseidon to your shampoo and conditioner for a DIY purple shampoo with a light toning effect.
OH, and if you’re looking for a way to truly tone your hair, Purple AF can do that too! 💅
In a bowl of Arctic Mist, mix a few drops of Poseidon and Purple AF for a DIY hair toner!
Sooo what can’t she do?? Purple AF hair dye is our most popular color for a reason, Fox Fam! Let us know your favorite way to use this queen of color in the comments and as always, let us know if you have any questions! Stay colorful, Fox Fam! 🌈✨💕🤗

]]>If you haven’t bleached yet, check out how to use Bleach, Please here, and then come back to learn why post-bleach aftercare is your blonde hair’s new bestie.
@kenzie_teague rocked Bleach, Please for her icy blonde, and added hydration with Money Hunny and Pool Party for air-dried waves. 🏖️
Hydrating your hair after bleaching is a MUST. Bleached hair gets a bit dry and fragile because the process opens the cuticle layer of the hair shaft, making moisture harder to lock in. Hydration is like a superhero shield, making your hair flexible, shiny, and less likely to break. It's the secret sauce for saying bye-bye to those pesky split ends! 🌈✨ Show your hair some love and opt for hydrating products 💁♀️🌟
✨AF Pro Tip✨ Drink water for healthy hair! Hydration isn't just important for your body, it's a game-changer for your hair too! Drinking water keeps your hair cells happy and well-hydrated, ensuring they retain moisture and stay flexible. When your locks are adequately hydrated from the inside, they're less likely to become dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. So, sip that H2O for hair that's as hydrated as your favorite skincare routine! 💦🌟
Limited washing is another ingredient in the secret sauce! 🚿💫 Too much shampooing strips away those natural oils that keep your locks glossy and thriving. Spacing out your wash days is the key to preserving those natural oils, maintaining vibrancy, and letting your hair shine - literally! ✨💖
Enter the game-changer: dry shampoo! 🌬️🌟 Arctic Fox's dynamic duo, Vacay and Road Trip, are your go-to squad for refreshing those strands in between washes. They soak up excess oil, add volume, and keep your hair feeling fresh without the daily washdown.
Bleached babes, listen up – we already know excessive heat styling and hot water are the villains behind color fading, but they also are one of the biggest threats to bleached hair 🥵! To keep your hair health intact, go easy on hot tools and opt for warm, not scalding, water. Limit heat tool usage to 2-3 times a week at most to prevent damage. When you do use hot tools, stick to lower temperature settings – around 300°F or lower is your hair's happy place.
And here's the golden rule when using a hot tool: always, always use a heat protectant as a shield for your hair! Opt for embracing heatless styles, like braids, buns, sock bun curls, or air-dry with some Money Hunny to tame the frizz, so you can give your locks a break.
Don’t forget, the heat from harmful UV rays contributes to drying and damaging bleached hair. Shield those beach blonde strands from harsh sun with OG hair perfume & UV protectant ☀️ It is made with ingredients like Helioxine, a powerful sun shield derived from sunflowers that also keeps free radicals at bay, and humectants, one of the best hair hydrators🌻Plus, OG Hair Perfume & UV Protectant also has our signature grape scent, just like our dyes 🍇 The only thing that should be super hot, is how you look with your new hair 😏🔥
Foxes, when it comes to your hair game, always roll with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners are the guardians of bleached hair. They're gentle, keeping your hair moisturized and frizz-free without stripping away all those natural oils. Check out AF’s Resurrected Shampoo + Conditioner – it's the sulfate-free fairy godmother your hair's been wishing for. Packed with goodies like argan oil and green tea extract, it's the ultimate combo for strong, shiny, and vibrant tresses. Plus, it's got your back in the color preservation game. No harsh detergents here, just pure love for your mane. And let's be real, nobody wants a red, irritated scalp after bleaching – not cute! Keep it sulfate-free, keep it fresh. 💁♂️✨
Say hello to your bleached-treated hair's dynamic duo! 💪🚿
Hair masks are heroes for your post-bleach hair! 🦸♀️✨ Use them weekly, or even daily if you're feeling extra!
Arctic Fox’s Pool Party is the ultimate hydration haven 🌴✨ This foaming hair mask isn't just a product; it's a haircare experience. Apply enough to saturate dry hair, leave it in for a blissful 10 minutes (or more!), then rinse and condition. Your hair emerges revitalized, ready to conquer the day. But hold up, the magic doesn't end there – you can also use Pool Party as a leave-in conditioner! Just a dab on wet hair, and boom, you've locked in that moisture all day. 🌊
Hit the haircare jackpot and get you some Money Hunny! 💰✨ This serum, armed with Prodew®500, Keravis, and a blend of hydrating oils like argan and avocado, is your MVP for post-bleaching. 🌈💪 Give your locks the love they deserve – add 1-2 pumps, depending on hair length and thickness, from mid-length to ends. Money Hunny is lightweight, so it can (and should) be used daily to keep those locks hydrated and frizz free. 💁♀️💖
Adding a post-bleaching oil routine will level up your hair health 🛢️✨ Use the power trio: argan, avocado, or jojoba (a blend of all of them is great too). They’re all oils that can penetrate the hair shaft – it’s like a spa day for your hair, drenching it in the hydration it craves. The frequency of use depends on your hair type and needs, but generally, using hair oils 1-2 times a week as a treatment or leaving them in overnight can work wonders in restoring vitality to your strands. Just don't OD on the oil, or you might end up with a greasy situation – balance is key! 🌿✨
✨AF Pro Tip✨ Add some Money Hunny Repair Serum and oil from mid-length to ends before your wash routine. 🌈💰 This power move shields your locks, keeping that precious moisture locked in. Shampoo, we see you – you're all about cleaning the scalp and roots, right? 👀 But the less shampoo gets to your luscious lengths, the better! 🚿🌟 Keep those tresses hydrated pre-wash, and watch how shampoo won't dry out your hair. 🌊💖
Don't skip the bond-building! 🔗✨ after you've given your locks the bleach treatment, it's time for some real talk about bond builders – the unsung heroes of post-bleach life! 🚀✨ Bond builders are like your hair's repair squad. They help mend any broken bonds caused by bleaching, making sure your hair stays strong. 💪🌈 Think of it as insurance for your strands – when you use it, the more resilience and bounce your hair retains. Your hair will thank you 💖
Wearing a silk bonnet or using a silk pillowcase is like giving your bleached hair a VIP treatment while you catch those Zs! 🌙✨ Bleaching makes your tresses more delicate, and silk protects your mane from tangles and breakage. 🦸♀️💖 The smooth silk surface is like a cozy hug for your hair, preventing it from getting all tangled up and keeping that fresh bleach job intact. Plus, it's a chic bedtime accessory that adds a touch of glam to your beauty sleep routine! 😴🌟 So, slip on that silk bonnet and pillowcase, dream big, and wake up with hair that's as smooth as the day before.
Understanding the factors that determine your hair's bleach tolerance is a personal equation involving your hair type, its natural strength, and past treatments. Some of the red flags of over-bleaching: if your once vibrant strands start resembling a tumbleweed, feel straw-like, or if you spot breakage– Your hair's talking to you; listen up and adjust those bleach sessions accordingly 🚫
When it comes to bleach sessions, don’t push your hair past the limit 🚫⏰ Typically, you should be waiting at least 4 to 6 weeks between bleaching. This golden window lets your hair recharge, repair, and maintain its moisture. However, there's no one-size-fits-all here! 🌈💇♀️ We always recommend consulting a professional’s personalized advice. Whether your hair craves a little extra time or is ready for your next color adventure, let the experts guide you. 🌟💖
✨Achieving and maintaining the perfect platinum locks with Bleach, Please is a journey that extends beyond the initial bleaching process. Your post-bleach aftercare routine is crucial in ensuring your blonde hair remains vibrant, flexible, and healthy. Hydration is the key, and Arctic Fox Hair Care products like AF’s Resurrected Shampoo + Conditioner, Pool Party hair mask, and Money Hunny hair serum play essential roles in keeping your locks nourished and frizz-free. Don't forget that bond builders can help repair and strengthen your hair after the bleaching adventure. Understanding your hair's limit, waiting between bleach sessions, limited washing, and minimizing heat exposure are vital components in the recipe for luscious, long-lasting blonde locks. With the right aftercare routine, your bleached hair can shine with radiance and resilience 💖✨Embrace the journey and slay your way to healthy, happy hair! 💁♀️💖
New year, new me is a cliché that rings true every year. If you found yourself itching for a glow up the second the clock turned midnight, you’re not the only one! Certain hair color trends are still on the rise, while newer hues are catching our eye. Let’s dive into what’s trending in 2024 and how you can make them trendy AF with Arctic Fox hair color and custom hair dye mixes!
Peach blonde is expected to heat up this year, which is no surprise considering Peach Fuzz was announced by Pantone as 2024’s Color of the Year. Similar to the muted tones of Strawberry Blonde, Peach Blonde mimics that subtlety in a soft pastel peach tone - like a peach sorbet! It’s close enough to a red-toned blonde, but still has a beautiful orange hue that softens up the shade just slightly.
Trendy AF: Peach Sorbet
This custom mix is a fun, vivid spin on the peach blonde trend, with a bit more pink! Because of the soft hue, you’ll need a minimum level 10 hair. Start with a base of Arctic Mist Diluter, and add in a few drops of Virgin Pink and Neon Moon. Remember, a base of color (or diluter) depends on the length and thickness of your hair! Your base should be determined by the amount of product you’ll need to cover your hair and mix in the rest of the hair dye according to the ratios specific in the mix recipe! As you mix your peach blonde hair color together, the portion of Virgin Pink and Neon Moon should be equal drops! Add more Virgin Pink to lean more pink, or Neon Moon to lean more yellow - whatever your heart desires! It’s giving peach sorbet on a summer day. 🤤
Trendy AF: Orange Creamsicle
For most of our mixes, you’ll need to start off with a minimum level 10 to achieve the desired swatch, especially this creamy orange! Results may vary depending on hair level and overall hair health. If you’re looking to lean towards a softer orange, diluting Arctic Fox’s Sunset Orange hair dye will get you there. Use our Arctic Mist Diluter and just keep on adding until you reach your desired shade!
Trendy AF: Burnt Peach
@sheaella
We are obsessed with this burnt peach perfection. It feels like it falls right in between the pink and orange portion of the peach spectrum and we think you’ll rock it no matter the season. On Level 8 hair or lighter, start out with Cosmic Sunshine hair dye, add a dollop of Frosé hair dye, plus a few drops of Sunset Orange and violá!
Purple hair is always in, that’s why Purple AF is at the top of the charts year after year! In 2024, we’re going to be seeing A LOT of purple and violet on darker bases, giving a deep purple or Burgundy tone. Perfect for the Foxes who are looking to give bleach a break, this “trend” is just enough to boast a bold color. Just wait until your locks hit in the sunshine….OMG.
Trendy AF: Tinted Purple
Purple AF will forever be a Fox Fam fave. Painting it over a medium brown or dark brown base for all our dark-haired Foxes will absolutely do the trick! We’re obsessed with the subtle take on this style, highlighting certain areas instead of all her locks. You see what we mean by the sun, right?
@violentinside in Purple AF and Transylvania
Trendy AF: Lilac Dreams
Now for even more experimenting! Any dreamy hue, you’ll need to start on a Level 10 Platinum base (really anything is possible when that’s your starting point!) This cool violet hue came from our very own dreamland and is made up of a bowl of Neverland mixed with 2-3 drops of Violet Dream. This mix stays on the cooler side, but it’s making us want to open our favorite book underneath a lilac tree.
Trendy AF: Violet Magic
For a smokier take on the violet hair color trend, mix up ⅔ Sterling hair dye with ⅓ Violet Dream hair dye. We can almost hear that witch cauldron bubbling up with this shade. Work your ✨magic✨ fox!
Trendy AF: Vivid Violet
Now for the brightest violet of them all, on Level 10 hair, start with a base of Girls Night hair dye, and add a drop or two of Purple AF depending on how deep you want to take it. This is a HOT take on vivids, but it gives an undeniable twist to the violet hair trend that will stop anyone in their tracks. 🤩
If you’ve spent any time scrolling on TikTok (or know someone who has), you’ll know that red was the RAGE all of 2023. We saw celebs like Dua Lipa and Megan Fox take red hair color up a level and it definitely made us stock up on enough bottles to last all of 2024. Lucky for us and all the red dyes we’re staring at, not only is red hot, hot, hot for 2024, but it’s getting even bolder. We’ll be seeing bolder, brighter reds with blue undertones that may just take the center stage over the copper trend we saw everywhere in 2023.
Trendy AF: Red Hot Fox
We know you love a custom mix, and there’s nothing like combining two of our most popular red hair dyes to really turn up the heat! Mix up equal parts Wrath hair color and Ritual hair color for this take on red hot hair.
@cygoesmeow in Wrath and RItual
Trendy AF: Revenge Red
Say what you want about babes with red hair, all we know is they ooze confidence whether it’s their signature shade or their latest look on their revenge tour. A standout stunner will forever be Wrath hair dye solo.🤌 Wrath looks the brightest on Level 7 hair and above, but will add a dark red dimension to hair Levels 6 and lower. She’s one of our most popular shades for first-time dyers and is an excellent choice for those who want to switch it up without taking the plunge into bleach!
@marijantunez in Wrath
Rich, red based browns were on the up towards the end of 2023 but they’re continuing to take over in 2024! The Cherry Coke hair color trend is one that undoubtedly turns heads and we’ve got some secret recipes we’re ready to share with you.
Trendy AF: More Cherry Than Coke
Ritual is the secret sauce when it comes to nailing this shade. On Level 7 hair and above, she runs a rich, jewel-toned burgundy, and leaves a vibey velvet tint on hair levels 6 and below.
For a rich, red spin on that Cherry Coke vibe, mix up equal parts Ritual hair dye and Wrath hair dye and pour it all over a brown base. This hair is sweeter than fine wine, baby! 🍷
@laurellevictoria in Ritual and Wrath
Trendy AF: Berry Babe
Leaning into a dreamy berry vibe, this 50/50 mix of Violet Dream hair dye and Purple AF hair dye over a faded red base is definitely a winner. The key here is the base! Starting out with a faded red already brings out the reddish tones from the purple hair dye being used.
@atouchofmurphy in Violet Dream and Purple AF over faded red
Aquamarine is a color that’s predicted to make a MAJOR comeback in 2024 - and luckily we have that exact color in our AF hair dye rainbow! With teal hair on the rise, you’ll want to stock up soon because we know this will be something you’re dyeing for on a whim! Aquamarine shines the brightest on level 10 hair, but our dark-haired foxes can still expect to see a deep teal tint.
@adriassight in Aquamarine
@hadar_kawaii_hair in Aquamarine, Iris Green, and Phantom Green
@cozywithsam in Aquamarine
I mean…you really can’t go wrong. Our Aquamarine hair dye is all you need to NAIL this trend. 😮💨
It’s no surprise that retro vibes are trending. Nostalgic fashion and beauty trends from the 90s and 2000s have made their way back around and this denim hair color trend is the perfect way to pay tribute. While it may be within the realm of blue hair trends, this one differs from Aquamarine as it skews a bit darker.
Blue Jean Baby hair dye is the go-to color to achieve this denim look - the proof is in the name itself! For hair that goes with everything, pour Blue Jean Baby over Level 7 hair or lighter. Even when she fades, she’ll give a smoky hue that feels just as good as those worn in jeans you never want to get rid of.

Any of these looks calling your name? We can’t wait to see if you try one or all of them this year. And remember, most of our custom mixes start on level 10 hair, so if you’re looking to get to that starting point, we recommend kicking your year off with a little bit of Bleach, Please.
Be sure to tag us on Instagram or Tik Tok @arcticfoxhaircolor so we can see how you take these shades into the New Year and show off! Cheers to a bolder and more colorful 2024.
]]>Before we look ahead, we thought it would be fun to look back one last time. We spent all of 2023 celebrating our 10th anniversary, so before moving into the next decade of AF we’re time traveling to see how Pantone encompassed the last 10 years in terms of color and why. SO many of these colors are still some of the Fox Fam’s favorite shades to play with!
2013 - Emerald, a hue that enhances a sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.
2014 - Radiant Orchid is still a custom hair dye mix that we love to see and according to Pantone it’s “expressive and exotic blooming with confidence and warmth.”
That brings us to 2024…. We say it every year, but it feels like the folks at Pantone are reading our minds, or maybe, we just know what we’re talking about when it comes to color too 😀The 2024 Color of the year is PEACH FUZZ! According to Pantone, “Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others or for enjoying a moment of stillness and the feeling of sanctuary.” As a brand who puts our community first, we could not love this more.
Peach Fuzz sits between pink and orange on the color spectrum, and we’ve already been dreaming of ways for you to give this a try in 2024. We fully expect this color to be EVERYWHERE in the spring.
If you’re looking to nail “Peach Fuzz,” you’ll want Sunset Orange Hair Dye and our Arctic Mist Diluter. If you’re already at a level 10 for your base color, use Arctic Mist Diluter the heck out of Sunset Orange until the color appears as warm and fuzzy as you’d like. Of course, perform a strand test FIRST to be sure you’re peachy keen!
Faded Sunset Orange
For a more pinky peach hue, take your diluted Sunset Orange and mix her with Frose or Electric Paradise Hair Color, depending on how pink you want to take your peach.
@siren.style in Sunset Orange and Electric Paradise
For a darker take on the Color of the Year, start out with Cosmic Sunshine hair dye, add a dollop of Frose hair dye and a few drops of Sunset Orange.
@sheaella in Cosmic Sunshine, Frosé, and a few drops of Sunset Orange
One of our most coveted mixes is this dreamy peach made with equal parts Arctic Mist Diluter and Girls Night hair color plus a dollop of Poison!
So, are you ready to embrace that warm fuzzy feeling? Don’t forget to tag us @arcticfoxhaircolor with your new look!
]]>Thinking about bleaching that hair? 👀 We’re about to dive into our essential guide for using AF’s At-Home Bleaching Kit: Bleach, Please! Since launching, Bleach, Please has become a staple in the Arctic Fox Hair Color Line with our 100% vegan and cruelty formula. And YES she’s totally DIY friendly. Let’s answer some FAQs and give all the newbies and Fox Fam veterans the best tips to achieve the platinum hair of your dreams!
Bleach, Please is a complete hair lightening kit that comes with a 3 oz tube of violet-toned cream bleach, a 6 oz bottle of 35-volume developer, and latex-free gloves. Like all other Arctic Fox and Foxology products, our best-selling Bleach Kit is 100% vegan and 100% cruelty-free. As far as bleach goes, our 35-volume developer is pretty high which means you can see up to 8 levels of lift! A perfect starting point if you’re looking for pastels this spring.
Bleach, Please is also supplemented with tons of ingredients to help protect and repair your hair, such as Polycare® Split Therapy which helps prevent split ends. Other key ingredients include açaí, papaya fruit extract, castor oil, mango seed butter, cocoa seed butter, sunflower seed oil, and arginine. Unlike other bleach kits, we formulated Bleach, Please with key ingredients like açaí, papaya extract, mango seed butter, and cocoa seed butter to help prevent hair loss, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. Castor oil is renowned for promoting hair growth, as well as improving the health of your hair by boosting keratin production. Sunflower seed oil keeps the locks hydrated, and arginine is an essential amino acid responsible for stimulating hair growth. All these ingredients work together to keep your hair as healthy and happy as possible, all while getting you to a clean, light base (and canvas for the most vibrant colors).
Quick tip before you bleach: Make sure you’ve got our custom bowls and brushes to mix up the bleach and developer. If not, any applicator brush and non-metal bowl should do the trick!
We’ve formulated Bleach, Please to be as gentle as possible - but at the end of the day, all bleach has the potential to cause damage since it opens up the hair cuticle to remove pigment from the strand, which can leave hair feeling dry or rough. Keep this in mind and take care of your hair both before AND after you bleach it! Every Bleach, Please kit comes with full instructions, but the basics of bleaching will always apply. Always perform a strand test and a patch test prior to application to ensure you don’t have any kind of allergic reaction to the product!!
Leading up to bleaching you'll want to give your hair plenty of TLC and conditioning to give it the healthiest starting point!
Let’s break this down into steps, shall we!?
Make sure you’re in a well-ventilated room when you’re applying the bleach, and always wear gloves to protect your hands. Your hair should be fully saturated for an even lift, and you’ll want to work as quickly as you can to ensure it all lightens to the same level!
Our developer is so high that we recommend avoiding your roots when using Bleach, Please. Start ⅛ of an inch away from your roots for best results!
Check your hair every 5 minutes or so to monitor the lightening progress and rinse the bleach out completely within 30-45 minutes. You don’t want to let the bleach sit any longer than 45 minutes regardless of the level of lift to prevent any serious damage from occurring. Bleach, Please is formulated with some of the best ingredients to prevent damage but remember… it’s still bleach.
With our 35 Volume developer your hair can lift 3-4 shades per session! The darker your natural hair level, the more pigment it packs, meaning it might need a bit more sessions to lighten up, so be patient! Make sure to space out the processes at least a week apart - this will allow the natural oils in your hair to build back up and help protect it during the lightening process. The road to platinum is a marathon, not a sprint!
✨AF Pro Tip✨ We only recommend using Bleach, Please on un-dyed hair, and it shouldn’t be used to try and remove dye from the hair, whether Arctic Fox Hair Color or others - doing so can cause unexpected color results or permanent staining of the hair! If you do need to remove color, please use a color remover formulated for the type of hair color in your hair!
Bleach, Please makes the process simple, but lightening your hair at home can get tricky! If after using Bleach, Please, your hair turned out brassy or uneven, there are steps you can take to color correct.
A little bit of brassiness won’t affect most Arctic Fox colors applied on top, especially if you’re using a darker or more highly pigmented color. But if you do want a light, cool-toned blonde, a toner will help remove any unwanted brassy tones! You can get a light toning effect on brassy hair by using Periwinkle or Girl’s Night, or a VERY diluted Purple AF, either applied alone or added to your shampoo and conditioner like a purple shampoo!
An uneven lift can be trickier to troubleshoot, though, especially if you’ve got a significant difference in color. There are many different reasons that your hair might have lifted unevenly - so here’s some Q’s to take into consideration!
Arctic Fox Hair Colors are known for their customizability, but bleach is different and can’t really be customized the way dyes can. But you can still use the kit for more than just all-over lighting! You can use Bleach, Please as part of a bleach bath by adding shampoo to your mix. A bleach bath is a bit gentler than a full on bleaching session, so if you’re afraid to go full force, this might be the way to get started!
If the provided 35-volume developer is a bit strong for your hair type, you can cut it with a lower-volume developer or substitute it entirely for a different developer while keeping our violet-based cream bleach for that extra toning effect. Just make sure the 2:1 ratio of developer to bleach stays the same to ensure you get the most effective lightening possible!
So what AF shades are best to use after bleaching? Look no further than our pastel hair dyes of the AF rainbow! From pastel purples, pink, green, yellow, and orange, these hair dyes STUN on a bleached base. Because pastel hair dye is so light, the pigment will not show up on hair levels 1-6. Your best bet for pastels is to start at 9 close to 10 hair level for that true pastel shade. And when you nail it, OMG, does it look pretty!

@tejamaechele in Electric Paradise over Periwinkle
@salemmooncosmetics in Iris Green and Neverland
You can always opt for another darker shade after bleaching, but most darker hues don’t require a lightening process. Although, darker shades will still show up very pigmented on lightened hair. It all depends on the look you’re going for!

]]>Time flies when you’re having fun, and we DEFINITELY have. 10 years ago we set out to create the best prismatic hair color line and now we’re coloring and conditioning hair across the globe. We’ve celebrated all things AF all year long with launches, giveaways, donations to amazing organizations and more. But first, let's take a look back at what was going on in our world in 2013 when it all began.
- “What does the Fox Say” was the most viral Youtube video of the year...
- Now we’re always asking “what does the Fox FAM say?!”
- Word of the year: SELFIE (how perfect)
- Platinum and pastel hair were IT
- Pixie cuts and mohawk braids were everywhere
- Orange Is the New Black and Breaking Bad were the most talked about TV shows
- We were obsessed with cronuts
- Miley twerked at the VMA’s
- Britney coined the term “work, b*tch”
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect to launch a brand dedicated to all things attitude and hair color. Since the start we have been driven to create a space for everyone to express themselves and do it all for a great cause. But what have we done since launching Arctic Fox?
- Evolved our hair color line to now include over 20 unique shades
- Produced an affordable and high quality hair care line - Expanded the brand to be wherever YOU are, in some of the most popular beauty stores Ulta, Sally Beauty, and Hot Topic - Launched our Foxology gel nail kits and nail polishes
- Became a leader in affordable at-home hair color
- Empowered our Fox Fam to embrace their uniqueness
- Helped thousands of animals along the way with your support of AF
We’ve done so much through the years to create our colorful community and impact the lives of animals worldwide through our efforts. All of this made it that much more important to us to go out with a bang for our 10th anniversary and we couldn’t be more thankful to have spent it with all of you. Here’s how we celebrated through this year:
We added new dyes to the mix… and brought some back. Our newest shade, Ginger Flare is now one of our most popular colors, and we LOVE to see you sport your coppery looks!
@evelina.forsell in Ginger Flare
But for a bit of nostalgia, we brought back an old favorite this year. Your peachy bestie, Porange is back (for a limited run) just in time for you to create looks around Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2024, Peach Fuzz!
@meghanowen in Electric Paradise and Porange
We let YOU decide on future launches! We listened to your requests and you helped make Ginger Flare a best seller. So we took it a little further by letting our Fox Fam decide which color we should release in 2024 and you guys did NOT disappoint. Make sure you’re signed up for emails and follow us on our socials to see when the chosen shade is released. We can’t wait to see you guys use this gorgeous spacey blue shade.
Expansion, expansion, expansion! Our Foxology nail line had TONS of growth this year. We added dozens of new polish colors and gel nail kits to the mix. We even introduced you to Foxy the Snowman.
As seen on…. TV, magazines and just EVERYWHERE. This year your favorite at-home hair color and nail brand (aka US) was featured on celebrities like Karol G and Megan Fox. How sick is that?
There were lots of opportunities to win big! We partnered with brands like Loungefly for social media giveaways to give back to our Fox Fam.
And for our loyal Fox Fam, there were even more ways to save and earn! We leveled up our rewards program for our loyal customers to have better ways of earning points on their AF purchases.
We gave back to those in need. Our animal rescue partners have been near and dear to us through the years. As a company that prides itself on donating 15% of our revenue to animal welfare organizations, we wanted to make sure we gave back in more ways this year.
Our team kicked off the year with visits to Viva Rescue and Judith A. Bassett Candid Education & Conservation Center to meet with the animals we help impact through our donations.
At Viva Rescue our donations this year helped cover care costs that saved the lives of young goats.
Our donation to Judith A. Bassett Candid Education & Conservation Center helped them fund the addition of several new enclosures. Including one for an actual arctic fox!
Our work with Second Chance Animal Rescue helped to cover medical costs for several animals in their care.
WIth IFAW we were able to support their efforts to help animals around the world even through natural disasters and displacements in areas with political unrest.
Without you and your support, none of this would be possible. We are so happy to have built a community that supports us as a brand and our ongoing fight for animal welfare. We couldn’t be more thankful for our Fox Fam and we’re so excited to show you what we have up our sleeves in the new year and beyond. Thanks for celebrating with us all through 2023!
]]>Hi Foxes!
With the cold months upon us, you may be missing the warmer weather and there’s truly no better way to heat things up than by entering your red hair era (or re-entering 😉). Allow us to make this as seamless as possible by giving you not one, but THREE red hair dyes that may even be simply TOO hot 🥵 (especially when mixed)!
It’s important to know that Wrath, Ritual, and Poison are not just red semi-permanent hair dyes … They're a portal to a world where you stand out in the most captivating red hues and express your unique and individual style. With these three red hair dyes, you’ll be able to do just that.
Before diving into some mixes, let’s run through a couple of quick things:
Now that you're RED-y 🤪 to go, let’s embark on the journey of transforming your locks into that inspo pic that you've had saved for some time now, shall we?
Whether you were naughty or nice, this first mix is for you 👇
Best suited for light to medium brown hair, this sultry, red-black fusion consists of a base of Poison and a drop of Transylvania (add a few more drops if needed).
Infuse the vivacity of Poison with the rich deep hue of Ritual and watch magic happen 🪄 Mixing equal parts Poison and Ritual (adding more Ritual as needed) and applying over light to platinum blonde hair will yield the best results.
✨ AF Pro Tip: Punch it up with more Poison for a more vivid red 🥊
@ashlee__smith in Virgin Pink and Ritual
Combine the dark elegance of Ritual with Virgin Pink for a deep, enchanting red-pink “cranberry” concoction. Mix 2 parts Ritual to 1 part Virgin Pink on light to medium blonde hair.
@cygoesmeow in Wrath and Ritual
Combine equal parts of Ritual with Wrath for a merlot moment on light to platinum blonde hair, for this dark Ruby look 🥀
@lisovskihair in Poison and Neon Moon
Using fiery Poison with Neon Moon to add intensity, we suggest starting with 2 parts Poison to 1 part Neon Moon on light to platinum blonde hair 💥
✨AF Pro Tip: If needed, add in more Poison to deepen the mix
@notyourdestiny__ in Wrath and Electric Paradise
Similar to the ”Foxy Firecracker” mix, use the red as your base and add in your other shade. Start with 2 parts Wrath to 1 part Electric Paradise on light to platinum blonde hair 🍒
✨ AF Pro Tip: If needed, add in more Wrath to deepen the mix
To preserve the brilliance of your customized hair color, you’ll want to embrace a color-friendly hair care routine. Opt for sulfate-free and color-safe shampoos and conditioners like our Resurrected Set to minimize color fading.
Washing your hair with cold water also helps seal the cuticles as well by locking in the vibrancy. Another helpful tip is to minimize exposure to harsh sunlight and heated styling tools, as these can accelerate color fading 🙅♀️ With proper care, your red locks will continue to captivate and inspire, ensuring your vibrant self-expression can continue ❤️
Soo, which one caught your eye?! 🤩 Let us know in the comments below and as always let us know if you have any questions/need color assistance at support@arcticfoxusa.com. Merry Mixmas! 🎨

Embrace the winter wonderland with our rich blues like Poseidon and jewel-toned greens like Phantom Green. Create a mesmerizing teal by mixing Poseidon and Aquamarine, perfect for capturing the essence of the season. Consider balayage or ombre techniques using different shades of blues turning your locks into a captivating icy landscape, or create dimension with a green color melt, Iris Green melted into Phantom Green with some red hair accessories!? It’s giving Christmas tree🎄. If you want to really make a statement, try mixing some Space Cowgirl with a little Ginger Flare to get the perfect ‘Grinch’ Green. If you want to keep your signature blue but make it more festive, try styling your hair with holiday accessories, like @xomerlissa does here:
@xomerlissa’s styles are always a sleigh! 🛷
@Sighmmaya used Periwinkle and Poseidon for this wintery balayage
Channel your inner ice queen ❄️👸 with a frosty blonde mix. Lighten your hair with Bleach, Please - which is perfect for a wintery blonde on its own - or add a dab of Periwinkle after you’ve rinsed your bleach to tone it to be the perfect icy-toned blonde. This ethereal shade is perfect for those who want to stand out while embracing the winter chill 🥶.
Make a bold statement with radiant reds, capturing the warmth of the holiday season. Our Poison and Wrath shades are ideal for a fiery, festive look, no custom mixing required. Experiment with placement techniques like highlights or peekaboos, adding a touch of drama to your holiday hairstyle. I love a Ginger Flare and Violet Dream blend for the perfect cranberry hair color that looks great on multiple hair levels. It's the perfect way to have festive hair without needing to bleach.
If you want to take it one step further, a spicy split dye with a custom ginger mix with Ginger Flare and a drop of Purple AF on one side, and the other side dyed with Phantom Green. The ultimate holiday mix! Two-toned hair is one of my favorite ways to stand out, especially something as bold as a green and red hair combo.
@Hairwaytoheavennn used Poison and Phantom Green for this two-toned Christmas look.
Sterling silver isn't just for jewelry; it's also a stunning hair color choice for winter. Showcase the versatility of Sterling with different color placements. Whether it's an all-over silver hue, strategically placed highlights, or a custom silver mix, Sterling adds a touch of elegance to almost any winter look. Mix 50/50 Sterling and Periwinkle for a stormy winter’s night vibe 🌨️.

Or if you think you might be on the naughty list, Blue Jean Baby and Sterling creates a smokey-toned dark blue, making your hair resemble the coal you’ll be getting in your stocking this year.

Let's talk about the finishing touches that can take your holiday look from ‘deck the halls’ to completely decked out! Our Foxology line offers a range of polishes that add the perfect finishing touch. Highlight your icy blonde with Snowflake it til you Make It or add a pop of color to your red locks with Crimson Claus. Or, be especially bold and do a holiday nail design like Sigourney Nuñez did with this adorable holiday wrapping-paper inspired look:
Sigourney used:
To create these holiday plaid nails!
Foxology’s Polish line is honestly the best nail polish I have ever used. When I am feeling fancy and want a more elegant design, I will take it with me when I get my nails professionally done - because it lasts SO much longer than most nail polish AND truly doesn’t chip (plus it’s free of 15 common harsh chemicals and vegan, which most professional polish is not!). It’s also a quick-drying polish, unlike other traditional nail polish. If you are anything like me, I always ruin at least one nail every time I am waiting for my nails to fully dry (why does it take forever!?!), but never with Foxology! The brushes are also designed in a way that I can actually paint my nails at home and not get polish on my fingers. I was so excited for this collection to launch and it did not disappoint. I dare you to really stand out this season with a holiday-look, head to toe!
This holiday season, let your hair steal the spotlight. With Arctic Fox Hair Color's bold and vibrant shades, you can start your own holiday hair trends, and with our Foxology Holiday Collection, you can complete your look to really embrace the season. Spread holiday cheer and stand out with Arctic Fox! 🦊
]]>We’ve been in denial but summer is long gone, and the fall vibes are quickly fading into winter. As the cold months settle in, your tanning routine, skincare routine, and hair care routine are probably all undergoing a major change. So that calls for a whole new routine! AKA an excuse to indulge in some new self care, but hey, who are we to judge!?
The same hair advice we preach year ‘round for both lasting color AND ultimate hair health is don’t 👏🏻 wash 👏🏻 your 👏🏻hair 👏🏻 every 👏🏻 day. And guess what, that advice still applies during the colder months even though you might be sweating less, staying in more, and opting for a movie night instead of a night out with the girls. In any case, having designated wash days once or twice a week is a great way to keep that moisture locked into your strands for as long as possible.
When it is wash day, make sure you’re using a color safe and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner! This step makes the biggest difference, and shampoo and conditioner is not the place to skimp out when it comes to your hair care routine! Our Resurrected Duo is vegan, color-safe, and sulfate-free, and it’s also PACKED with amino acids and antioxidants that contribute to hair strength and hydration. Resurrected shampoo is formulated with argan and macadamia nut oil to hydrate and soften while adding shine and reducing frizz. PERFECT for those winter months when hair static is an absolute pain in the a🫢. Shea butter, castor oil, and sunflower seed oil (just to name a few!) are the allstar ingredients in Resurrected conditioner - all of the above boost hydration, strengthen each strand, and leave you with soft, nourished strands. Ugh, can it be wash day already!?
Even though winter seems to be the time to turn that shower knob as hot as it can go, remember your hair needs extra moisture during these months and a lower water temperature is your best friend! Try a lukewarm lather and rinse finished off with some cold water - this will help prevent brittle and breakage on those lovely strands.
Whenever you do venture out into the cold, try a protective style like braids, a low bun, or tuck it into your favorite beanie! Depending on where you live, cold air or harsh elements actually dry out your hair and can contribute to breakage, so protecting your strands is a MUST. Silk or satin headwraps or pillowcases will be an absolute lifesaver during the dryer months - your hair will thank you. 🤝
Our favorite ✨Pro Tip✨ when it comes to keeping your hair ULTRA healthy and moisturized is adding in a pre shower hair mask to your routine. If you’ve been looking for a hair mask bestie to really take your haircare routine to the next level, Pool Party might just blow you out of the water! She’s packed with top tier vegan ingredients - castor, argan, sunflower seed oil, and apple fruit extract - a power team that accelerates hair growth, strengthens strands, fights frizz, and boosts hair hydration. Wow, that was a mouthful.
There’s more than one way to party it up with Pool Party if you forget to marinate your locks before a shower! You can apply it any time to dry ends for a quick hydration boost, use it instead of conditioner during a shower, OR mix it up and use it as a wet styling cream (but maybe save that one for summer).
Sometimes a pre shower mask and the perfect wash day routine still calls for some back up. Money Hunny Repair Serum is the IT girl of our haircare line. Her formula is silky, lightweight, and actually repairs split ends. With a blend of argan, babussa, arginine, avocado, macadamia nut, and jojoba seed oil, Money Hunny is the sweet remedy to dry, brittle, and breaking hair. You can use her on dry or damp hair for whenever you need that extra boost of TLC.
Now that you’ve got that hair care routine on lock 🫡 you may be wondering if the dead of winter is still a good time to try on a new color. When you’re using AF hair dye, it’s always a good time to switch up your color! Every color is formulated the same way - FULL of deep conditioning properties so it’s basically a color conditioner! ✨Girl Math✨So you know what that means! You can change your hair literally as many times as you want, all. year. long. Of course it depends on where you’re at now, but if you’re starting out fresh, use Bleach, Please to get to that platinum blonde, throw on Sterling for a totally icy look, and play around with the blues of the AF rainbow to find that wintery wonderland ‘do. Not sure what your starting point is? Check out our breakdown on the Color Wheel!
And of course, we wouldn’t be your hair bestie without dishing our top inspo that’s making us reach for a new bottle of dye because OMG.

Is TikTok making you want to dye your hair? Welcome to the club! If you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on that new color but have no idea where to start, you’re in the right place. We’re about to dish all our tips for your first time so that you can get that flawless color you’ve been dreaming of.
Vegan and Cruelty Free Formula
The biggest and most common concern with first-timers is worrying about hair damage. Especially if you have virgin hair. And we get it! All the hair dyes in the AF color range are formulated without any harsh chemicals and packed with so many deep conditioning properties they’re basically a colored conditioner! So not only can you leave it on as long as you want, you’ll also come out with soft locks full of color!
Semi-permanent dyes are the perfect solution to trying out bold colors minus the fear of settling down with one shade forever. AF hair dyes start with our signature full throttle bold color and then naturally fade out slowly over time with no additional processes. AKA you can try out new colors with the confidence that they won’t damage your strands, and they’ll still look ah-mazing as they fade. Semi-permanent hair dyes definitely don’t have to be scary!
@eclipse.lunxr in Virgin Pink
Starting with Vivid Hair Dye
When you’re first starting out with vivids, you need to keep in mind how light or dark your natural hair is to ensure you get the best results. For example, if your hair is light brown, deeply pigmented shades like Wrath, or Purple AF were made for you, Fox! Avoid pastel colors or the lighter blues and greens, unless you bleach and lighten your natural hair base first.
Need more inspo before you take the leap? We got a list of important questions you need to ask before you dye your hair, just to make sure you’re ready to jump into the world of color!
@queenbcyn in Wrath
One way you can crack the color code is by considering your skin’s undertone to help narrow down your choice and lead you to a new shade that will accentuate your natural features.
Your skin tone is the surface level color of your skin that can change due to the season or sun exposure, we all notice our skin tone change a bit in the summer months, right? 😎 Your undertone on the other hand, is the underlying tone of your skin that is ever-present and doesn’t alter with the seasons.
Knowing your undertone can help narrow down your choice of color (unless you want to rebel and go with whatever shade you’re feeling). Start by finding out which of the three categories of undertones you fall into: cool, warm, or neutral.
Cool undertones have a pink or bluish hue to their skin. Warm undertones have a yellow, golden, or peachy hue, while neutral undertones mirror the color of their surface skin.
To figure out your undertone, use the Vein Method, Jewelry Method, or White T-Shirt Method as all are proven ways to see how your skin tone compliments and reacts to colors - and yes you can totally do them right at home!
The white t-shirt method is as simple as it sounds - throw on a white t-shirt and go outside in natural light. Pay attention to how your skin contrasts with the white shirt. If your skin looks rosy or pink, you have cool undertones. If your skin looks golden or yellow, you have warm undertones. If you don’t really see a change, you have neutral undertones.
The vein method might be the easiest one! If your veins appear purple or blue, you have cool undertones. Green or love mean you have warm undertones, and a mix of blue and green are neutral undertones. If you can’t really tell, you likely have neutral undertones as well.
The jewelry method is probably the most fun! It’s simply the way jewelry looks on your skin. If you prefer silver jewelry against your skin you have cool undertones. If you prefer the way yellow gold jewelry looks on your skin, you have warm undertones. If you look great in both or don’t have a preference, (lucky you) you likely have neutral undertones.
And of course, we wouldn’t be your hair bestie if we didn’t have a full rundown on picking colors that go with your undertone right here!
In short, all our cool toned babes look best in Aquamarine, Poseidon, Periwinkle, Neverland, Girls Night, Purple AF, and Ritual.
@tayreichel in Neverland, Aquamarine, Periwinkle, and Arctic Mist Diluter
Warm undertones stun in reds, oranges, yellows, or colors with warmth like Electric Paradise, Wrath, Sunset Orange, Poison, and Virgin Pink.
And for our neutral undertone Foxes..well, you can literally go for any AF color.
@jingleheartart in Cosmic Sunshine and Neon Moon
Our second method for picking a hair color is by using color theory and the color wheel. The color wheel is a visual tool to explain and visualize the relationship between colors (That much was obvious, right?). The color wheel will help you better predict how specific colors will mix together and how to avoid results that just don’t hit the heights you want to scale with your new hairdo.
For example, complementary colors are two shades that live opposite each other on the color wheel such as, violet and yellow, red and green, orange and blue. When you are coloring for the first time it is best to pick a hue that is opposite your natural hair color on the wheel in order to get an optimum result! Consult the AF color wheel here to find your inspo!
@imperial.hairstudio in Aquamarine, Virgin Pink, Violet Dream, Sunset Orange, Cosmic Sunshine
For unbleached hair, you can also check a prediction of how deep the color will show up based on your natural hair base.
If you want to go lighter and even work up to a pastel shade, you’ll need to lighten your hair up with a little bleach. You can look at the hair level charts on the AF product pages for a guide to how light you’d need to be to get your desired shade. Lightening it up gradually over time is the best way to go about it, especially if you are starting with really dark hair that borders on or around black tones. Our lightening kit, Bleach, Please is a safe option for healthy at-home lightening if you are going down this route. Before you know it you’ll be setting off sirens with your new delicious hair color.
@sheaella in Girls Night and Periwinkle
So now you have done your research and found a complimentary hue and got your hair to the right base level, it's time to dive right in and get that new color on, right!? Erm... not quite!
We always, ALWAYS recommend doing a strand test to see exactly how your shade will show up on your beautiful head of hair.
Strand tests are SUPER important tools to help you see how the color will show up on your hair.
Even if you are blonde and have light hair, the natural tone of your hair will affect how color shows up so it's important to test it first. Everyone’s hair is different, and the Strand Test gives real world results of the color application. (The strand test never lies).
To start testing, shampoo and fully dry your hair, without conditioning. Find a 1 inch strand of hair in a hidden area and apply some of your chosen AF hue. Wrap the test strands in foil and let them process for at least 30 minutes before rinsing in cool water, drying your hair, and checking the outcome. You can always repeat the test as needed, if the shade was not what you were looking for.
Once you are happy and all set with your color, it's time to apply the shade to your locks. Naturally, we have some great tips and tools to help you get this process right!
Get ready to apply that delicious new color by either shampooing and drying your hair first, or even applying the color to hair that has not been washed for a day or two. This will allow natural oils to remain in the hair and can help the hair dye absorb into the strands better. We love to see that new vivacious color soak in.
While dyeing your hair use our alligator clips to separate your hair into sections to allow the color to be applied thoroughly and evenly. Ohh snap!
@onedreamparis in Virgin Pink
If you are applying multiple colors the sectioning clips can be a lifesaver! For mixes, you can also use AF mixing bowls to measure out and mix up a perfect storm of color. It just makes it a little easier to get the exact ratios you need.
Before you apply the color and allow it to process for at least 30 minutes, you should take a couple of precautions to prevent staining your skin.
First, apply vaseline around your hairline to prevent staining on your face or neck, because, well, that’s not a great look. And finally, wear our reusable gloves while you apply your color and rinse it off, to prevent the hair dye from staining your hands and making it look like you have been in art class.
Whoop! 30 minutes later and you’re done! Your gorgeous new color can be unleashed into the world.
Keeping your new hair color looking fresh can be done in more than one way! Remember, our dyes will still look super pretty as they fade - BUT the less you wash your hair the slower the fading process is. Opt for our Vacay Volumizing dry shampoo in between wash days to stretch your clean hair as long as possible, and don’t forget to throw in a few drops of your chosen hair color to your conditioner to keep that color looking fresh! Our 4 oz bottles are perfect for that touch ups!
Of course, a big part of success with hair dye is not only choosing the right hair dye color, but maintaining your new color afterwards. Throw in a color safe shampoo and conditioner into your wash day routine (like our Resurrected Duo) to keep that color alive and long-lasting. You can also grab an extra 4 oz bottle of your chosen color and add a few drops into your conditioner as needed for that extra oomph if you see your color starting to fade.
✨AF Pro Tip✨ Pool Party is your pre or post shower bestie when it comes to deep hair hydration for the softest, most luscious locks. She can even double as a styling cream for that coveted wet hair look. Did we mention she smells absolutely delicious?
Want to share your new hair color and make us green with envy? Tag us @arcticfoxhaircolor and show us and the Fox Fam what you and your new color are made of.
]]>Taking that first dip into vivids might sound a bit scary…but it definitely doesn’t have to be! AF dyes are totally safe for your hair (vegan, cruelty-free, and they deep condition!) so you never have to think twice before you take the plunge. Whether you’re going for the coveted purple hair with Purple AF, a deeper red with Wrath, or a classic ginger with Ginger Flare, we have ALL the tips to make your first time experimenting with hair dye well worth the wait. So let’s get started with those first timer tips, shall we?
Before you get started with hair dye, you’ll need to know the color of your current hair and what shades are going to work for you - aka your hair level! If you’re thinking, WTF is a hair level anyway? Don’t worry! We’ll break it all down for you. Simply put, it’s the current color of your hair, and it fully impacts how the color will take to your strands. Hair level ranges from a deep black at level 1 all the way up to a white platinum shade at 10+. Your own natural hair color will fall somewhere along this gamut of options, and if you need some help finding it, this blog has it fully covered for you!
Your best strategy for a first time dye is sticking to the most pigmented and deeper shades, and not pastels or lighter colors. We know that pretty pastel is everyone’s envy, but they shine best on pre-lightened hair, so if you’ve never had your fun with bleach, you'll want to choose the semi-permanent colors that don’t require this step.
The best part of using strong, pigmented shades is that they take easily to almost any hair base - giving you the best chance of an amazing result on your first attempt with color.
The next part of your hair color master plan is to choose the right pigmented shade for you. We’re about to dive in with color inspo, and spill all the deets on which AF shades will work for our brunette, blonde, or red haired Foxes!
Brunettes usually line up on the hair level range between 4-6, so the best colors to dress those tresses would be the deeper, warmer shades of the AF rainbow. You’ll rock a gorgeous tint of your chosen color on level 4 hair, without having to use any bleach! And when the sun hits…O.M.G. 😍
✨AF Pro Tip✨: The deeper the brown the more likely the color will show up subtly. A strand test is your best bet to see exactly how the colors will translate to those locks!
Ritual offers a deliciously dark purple that will look beautiful over a brown hair base. This shade is daring enough for brunette’s taking the first step into hair coloring, but it’s also classy enough to graciously take center stage at any and all events.
If you’re a brunette and like the idea of going red, try stepping into the warm glow of Wrath. She’s a red cherry shade that offers brown-haired Foxes a risk free route to switch up their style. Thanks to her warming tones, Wrath compliments your brown hair level perfectly.
Another stop off on the purple section of the color spectrum and we find a bold, true purple. Purple AF is an intense all-out look but one that definitely works on a brunette base. If you’re interested in greens and blues the good news is your brown shade can take these cold colors too. Check out Poseidon, Aquamarine, and Phantom Green. Ready to pull off the look of your dreams?
If you’re a Fox with natural red hair, well we’re in AWE! Red is one of our fave hair colors, but if you’re looking to switch it up, you can experiment with a whole range of new colors too.
But, there is a small catch. Redheads often find that their hair holds its natural pigment more firmly than other hair colors. (Hair can be stubborn like that). The hair color might not take in the same way as with blonde or brunette bases, but do a strand test first and you’ll get your answers. If the strand test works as intended, you’re all set to give your new shade the go ahead.
Of course, there is also the option to lighten your hair first using Bleach, Please, our hair lightening kit! We get that bleaching might feel scary given it’s your first time dyeing your hair - but Bleach, Please is an easy DIY method to ease yourself into it. Just make sure you use gloves and follow all our instructions (like avoiding your roots!) for a smooth transition into lighter locks. If you’re not down to go that route, we still have some shades that we think would look ah-mazing on you!
Purple AF is a shade that will definitely work over your natural red hair and give your tresses a whole new dimension. If you want to go a little darker on the spectrum, Poseidon offers a blue hue, which when poured over natural red hair can appear a little purplish in color. It’s a shade that will totally WORK IT on our red-heads.
If you want to enhance those fiery locks, try on Poison, Ginger Flare, or Sunset Orange! Because of their orange and auburn tones, they absolutely STUN on a red hair base. Virgin Pink poured over red hair can give a light, natural ginger, too! Who knew!?
Natural blonde hair is at the lighter end of the hair level range, falling between 7 and 10+ on the spectrum. To break that down just a bit more, 7 is a dark blonde, 8 is blonde, 9 light blond, and 10+ platinum!
Sunset Orange will come through slightly differently depending on how light your blonde hair is. For Foxes with medium blonde hair, you can expect a deep-red orange. For lighter blonde hair expect a stronger hue, delivering more of the red undertones of this stunner.
Phantom Green shows up wonderfully on lightened hair, however if you have medium to darker blonde hair, this shade will still look unreal and deliver a more subtle emerald nuance to your strands.
Aquamarine is a delightfully intense blue shade that will have you dreaming of mermaid hair and crashing ocean waves. The good thing about using a blue shade like this on blonde hair is that it will hold the color for a while, so you can take time to enjoy that new shade to its full potential.
Once you're ready to move to a new hair color, the blue can be gradually faded out with sulfate-free shampoos. Once it’s faded you can transition to a new hue, you can find complementary colors on the color wheel and cocktail up some stunning hair color combos!
Because purple is a complimentary shade on the color wheel it works wonderfully well over blue. Purple AF, Periwinkle, and Girls Night are some of our fave purple shades to work over the top of faded out Aquamarine.
Certain shades of green including turquoise or teal, can create a vibrant and mermaid-like appearance when combined with blue hair. Phantom Green and Neverland can deliver a rich green hue over a faded blue shade amplifying that sea-maiden siren vibe. A final tantalizing option for covering faded blue hair is to go pink! Try Virgin Pink over blue if you want something that really pops with a bubblegum pink shade.
Whether it’s your first time dyeing, or your one thousandth, keep those looks comin’ and tag us at @arcticfoxhaircolor. We LOVE to see it!

Air signs are the thinkers and doers of the zodiac, with their intellectuality and curiosity being the driving force in how they move through the world. Their live and let live mentality allows them to breeze through life, rarely stopping to catch a breath. They analyze and probe, but easily make decisions, because they’re just THAT smart. Sound like anyone you know?
Air signs are synonymous with freedom, and bringing a breath of fresh air to our world. People under an air sign are adventurous, curious, and ever-changing (much like our hair). This personality can make them somewhat difficult to pin down and to peg exactly what gifts they’d enjoy. So we have a few ideas to help you out!
Arctic Mist Diluter is designed to swish with other colors and create unique mixes, and pastel shades. These lighter, customized looks match well with air signs and appeal to their outgoing personality, and ever changing nature.
@salinesimon in Arctic Mist Diluter and Aquamarine
While air can seem elusive or confusing for some others under a different elemental star sign, they are very interested in other people and naturally analytical. The air element can sometimes be an overthinker, taking a while to ponder their next move. For that reason, people and products that ground them back into the present moment are great for air zodiac signs.
Resurrected Shampoo and Conditioner is perfect for the Gemini, Libra or Aquarius in your life. Air zodiac signs tend to be intellectual (many air signs are lawyers, doctors, writers, speakers, or scientists) and their minds can get a little busy. Treat them to a touch of pampering and down time with the Resurrected duo. She will help them nourish their hair and maybe even switch off that deep thinking mode for a while.
If you want to treat an air sign with something that will appeal to their more adventurous side, Celestial Shimmer is an electric member of Foxology’s latest Holiday Glitter Nail Polish drop! This eye-catching blue glitter brings seasonal shine and more than a hint of the stars - perfect to be the center stage at allll the holiday parties!
Arguably the most perfect gift for that passionate fire sign in your life is Crimson Claus, a delightful crimson red shade for those who are not sure they made the nice list this year. But hey, it was a good time wasn’t it!?
Fire signs are known to be pretty fiery; (ironic we know!) sometimes they deliver a chaotic, disruptive energy due to excitement and passion, because well, fire signs are always in doing mode. They are trendsetters often leading the way and breaking new ground. They are confident and there is very little in life that they don’t feel they are equipped to take on.
Fire signs will be well matched to Poison, our most fiery red tone that mirrors their personality. This shade will exude that confident, center-stage persona that belongs to Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo zodiac signs.
@not_reagan in Poison
If there’s one word that comes to mind when we think of fire signs, it’s VOLUME. Pump up that hair with Vacay Volumizing Shampoo, and make any hairdo end in…WOW.

Arctic Fox's Ongoing Commitment to Fighting Animal Cruelty
We’re super proud that we are able to use our platform to give back, obviously you know by now that 15% of our net profits go directly to preventing animal cruelty and promoting animal welfare.
It feels awesome AF for us to be able to contribute to spreading awareness on animal welfare and know that we are partnered with organizations who’ve made it their mission to rescue animals all over the world. YOU, our Fox Fam, and your love of our amazing products are the main reasons we are able to do this work. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We’ve partnered with various organizations over the years, including Viva Rescue, Judith A Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center (JABCECC), Second Chance Rescue, Farm Sanctuary, Pup Culture Rescue, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), and so many others.
The projects we donate to are able to make a real difference in the lives of animals. In April 2022 we were able to assist IFAW in their efforts to help those fleeing the war in Ukraine with their pets. Over the years we have made several donations to Viva Rescue. Our impact helped Viva secure a new horse trailer to properly transport horses in need to their facility, build a beautiful chicken paradise and so much more.
But…. rather than talk about us, we’d like to give a big shout out to the work of our animal rescue partners here and tell you a little bit more about the great work each organization is doing. We hope you continue to be inspired to live colorfully with us so we can keep up all this amazing work!
JABCECC
The Judith A Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center is home to rescued canids - members of the dog family: wolves, jackals, foxes (including Arctic Foxes!), coyotes, and domestic dogs. Most of these canids are rescued from fur farms, medical research, or the exotic animal pet trade. Aside from rescuing and housing animals, JABCECC travels all over the country with Lucan, their DorkWorld Ambassador (yes, he’s a real life wolf), educating the public about these amazing creatures to help protect them and create a brighter future.
Our partnership has led to the building of an Arctic Fox Villa for Freddy Snowballs. The new enclosure is currently starting construction and the space will be dedicated to the arctic foxes the center has rescued. The new villa will be complete with an underground igloo for the foxes to stay cool in the summer! The enclosure will provide the foxes with a safe home environment to thrive with everything they need. We are SO excited to go back and visit!
If you’d like to read a little more about JABCECC and our work with them you can check out our previous projects.
Viva Rescue
Located in Menifee, California, Viva is run by Kalli and Maya who rescue and rehab animals on a daily basis. The Viva mission is to provide unwavering care to farm animals and equines that have suffered from abuse, neglect and extreme medical conditions or birth defects.
There’s too many heartwarming stories from this rescue, we couldn’t stop thinking about Thomas the Lamb after our visit! But first up, let’s meet Olivia.
Olivia the goat was dying of septic arthritis and needed urgent medical care to survive. At Viva’s Sanctuary she received urgent lifesaving medical support including a blood transfusion. With support, physical therapy and the assistance of her wheelchair, she was able to thrive and learn to walk after healing!
Olivia’s favorite activities include playing on the goat seesaw and eating (sounds good to us!) Olivia also loves hanging with the amazing Viva volunteers! Because of our consistent donations, Viva Rescue were able to say yes to saving Olivia when they got the call. We LOVE this happy outcome for Olivia.
We fell in LOVE with a little but incredible lamb named Thomas during our recent trip to see the team at Viva Rescue. Thomas needed specialized treatment to overcome some severe health challenges. He arrived at Viva at just one day old, after being born on a farm with his legs deformed, the farm vet recommended euthanizing him. He was unable to walk and even the vets at Viva were not sure he would make it, but the sanctuary gave him all the medical care he needed and helped him learn to walk again giving him a second chance at a healthy and fulfilling life. Our donations and your support made all this possible. Way to go Fox Fam!
We previously donated $50,000 to Viva Global Rescue to assist with their mission of providing professional rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary to horses and animals in need. This donation sponsored the care of four horses in their sanctuary for one year as well as bringing in two additional horses. This includes high quality food, supplements, bedding, medical care and any other financial needs. We also partnered with Viva to build a chicken paradise. This included chicken coops, a chicken quarantine area, a large fully enclosed predator proof run, and an enrichment area.
Second Chance Animal Rescue
Second Chance is a unique kind of animal rescue organization that provides programs to help make lives better for pets, and helps them find their forever home.
The rescue improves the lives of over 44,000 pets every year, and offers facilities such as subsidized animal hospitals for low or no cost treatment for sick and injured animals as part of the Community Healthy Pet Initiative.
Second Chance also provides shelter for animals alongside a program to help prevent overpopulation through spaying and neutering services, and education.
Our donations made it possible for animals like Charlie and Prancer to lead amazing healthy lives.
Charlie came to Second Chance with a broken leg but is now on his way to a full recovery. With his new found ability to use his leg more normally now, we will be able to live his best puppy life in no time.
It's been almost a year since Prancer came to Second Chance in pain. He had fallen through a grate onto a cement pad one story below, fracturing his femur. With the help of their vets, he made a full recovery and was adopted by a loving family who shared an update on him when he turned one last month:
"Our little Ozzy once Prancer at SCAS just turned one! He has made such a great addition to our family! Dr Cormier fixed his leg and he now enjoys running around keeping up with his kitty brother and canine sisters!!"
We remain extremely grateful for the work of the rescue organizations and their volunteers as well as our readers. You truly are our biggest supporters! Choosing non toxic, cruelty-free hair color from a brand with a commitment to donating to animal rescues can and does have a HUGELY positive impact on the lives of animals.
And next time you’re looking for a hot new hair color and want to do even more good in the world, visit the Arctic Fox website and keep dyeing for a cause.
]]>No need to worry about a hair-tastrophe over here! With us in your corner, you’ll be safe from the most common hair dye mistakes and get your dream hair every time.
If you’ve been here a while, you already know how your fav AF shades show up boldly on their own, and brilliantly in mixes. Our formulations are always vegan and cruelty-free, not to mention packed with hydration so you’re already caring for your hair even when you’re coloring it!
Now that we have that covered, it’s a good time to say hair dye mistakes can, and DO happen (We’ve all seen ‘em.) Here are our top hair dye hazards to watch out for, and how to fix them.
Choosing the wrong color for your current hair level
Picking a color that won’t show up on your hair’s current level might not be a total hair disaster, but it can be anticlimactic when you’re all amped and hyped for a bold new shade, and your results are a bit lower than anticipated.
It’s important to know your hair level BEFORE picking a color so it shows up as vividly as it's meant to. Don’t know what a hair level is and how to figure it out? You know we got that covered, right here!
And always ALWAYS do a strand test! You’ll be able to see how the color will actually take on your hair, before going full steam ahead and pouring a new color over your tresses. If the color doesn’t pop the way you wanted, refer back to our blog on WTF is a hair level? And the tried and true color wheel breakdown to test something else. Once you're happy, it’s time to apply your new hue.
If you have darker hair and you’re not totally down to lighten it, this range of shades will be your bestie as you dip your toes into the world of vivids!
Switching your hair color shade
Shifting gears from one shade to the next is an obvious moment in time where there can be some kind of hair color implosion you just didn’t see coming. If you want to avoid this mistake you need to be well prepared and armed with the knowledge you need to switch.
Let’s give you a few pro tips on the process. If you’re currently rocking a blue hue and want to pick up a vibrant new shade, it’s a step by step process. First up we need to fade that shade a little lighter. Once the blue has faded to something lighter, it is ready to take a hot new color - but some shades will work better than others.
Purples, and lavender shades work well with blues, as do greens like turquoise or teal. Even a pink shade like Virgin Pink can look unreal over a blue tone!
If you’re changing color and need to counteract orange or brassy tones with a red, orange or yellow tinge running through the strands, then color theory can point us in the right direction to neutralize those unwanted tones. For brassiness, the tones are orange or yellow, so consult the wheel to see which colors sit opposite to cancel out excess warmth.
If you want to get a grasp of the basics of color theory, head right this way. We have a full blog on the color wheel that you can take learnings and inspiration from. Hair learning nerds assemble!
And if you’re a visual learner, watch @stellacini (aka the color shifting MASTER) transform her copper base into this gorgeous emerald. Are you kidding!?
Leaving the dye on for the right length of time
If you’re a first-time dye-er, you might be unsure how long you can actually leave the dye on for before it, idk, totally ruins the look you were going for.
The upside is you're in the right place, Fox. Some dyes are harsh to hair, but AF dyes are safe to leave on for long periods of time. So make sure you let the dye sit for a while so it can be absorbed by your strands, and your resulting color will knock it out of the park.
A longer processing time will allow your hair to absorb MORE color and get that vibrant shade you’re going for. Conversely taking the dye off too soon reduces the processing time and the dye won’t penetrate the hair enough to achieve the intended color.
There are various other factors here, such as the color you are covering and the tone you are shifting to. If you have followed our other tips on fading your hair gradually to get the right hair level before coloring, then the color will take well when left on for the correct amount of time…. AND your awesome new color will last much longer.
@thegothwife in Transylvania, Aquamarine, and Poseidon
Not understanding your hair type
Your hair type has a HUGE influence on how hair dye is absorbed by your stands. Our vegan hair formula is safe to use on all hair types - straight hair, curls, waves, spirals and corkscrew hair - they all look to DYE for in AF colors. Different hair types absorb color differently however, so it’s worth figuring out exactly what you’ve got up top.
@iridescentsoulx in Frosé over faded Poison
Here’s some key considerations. Thick hair takes longer to absorb color, so you may need to leave the dye on a little longer. At the other end of the spectrum thin hair can absorb color much faster and may need a shorter processing time. Hair porosity (yes that’s a thing) impacts how well your hair absorbs moisture and retains it. High porosity hair may take color quickly and go darker, and the color may fade more quickly once applied. Low porosity hair may be more resistant to absorbing color, because the cuticles are more difficult to open. Finally, elasticity can also impact how well dye is absorbed. Hair with higher levels of elasticity will absorb color well and be less prone to breakage.
Low elasticity can make hair more resistant to color and other treatments. The good news is you can regain elasticity by caring and nurturing your hair over time (hello, hair care routine), which will make your hair stronger and more elastic.
Once you understand your hair type, AND texture - thin, thick, or medium hair, you can apply the knowledge to your color choices.
If you need extra guidance, we’re already one step ahead of you! Find your type and how to color it right here.
Lightening up your hair color
Perhaps you want to try out a new pastel shade but need a lighter base to work with first? Or maybe you have deep purple hair right now and want to jump to something new! Sometimes it’s necessary to lighten hair with bleach before adding a color to ensure it takes fully to the hair and stands out. Our Bleach, Please hair lightening kit is also vegan and cruelty-free like the rest of our range, and has detailed instructions on how to lighten your hair correctly, so it’s a great option if you’re dipping your toes into the lightening world!
The key here is to check how each color will show up depending on the hair level first, and ensure your hair is at the correct level for the look you want to achieve.
For any Foxes out there that don’t already know, hair level just means lightness of your hair - from 1 being a deep black, to 10+ as a platinum blonde.
To achieve a pastel pink look with Frosé for example, you would need a base hair level of 9 or above. If you want the lovely light purple of Periwinkle, start with Level 10+ platinum hair!

Mo damage, mo problems
If your current hair is just too damaged to take color, all you’ll need is some patience and a nutrient-packed hair care routine. Lucky for you, our vegan and cruelty-free line is waiting to give some much needed TLC to your locks!
Start with Pool Party for a pre-shower hair mask (at least 3 times per week), lather up with Resurrected Shampoo and Conditioner, and finish off with some Money Hunny repair serum on those ends. Consistency is key, fox, so keep that hair regime in check! And don’t forget to treat your locks to heatless hairstyles to keep the hair repair on the upward climb.
And bonus! When your hair is ready for some stunning color, you won’t have to worry about damage when you stick to our range of dyes. Why? They’re packed with nutrients and have deep conditioning properties. Plus, they smell sooo grape!
Post color hair care routine
Taking care of your hair is always important, and post color it pays to nourish your hair and help lock in the new shade and shine for longer.
The AF hair care range is crafted for colored hair making it the perfect option for giving your hair that health kick and new hair day bounce it deserves. Look how @dose_of_jos uses the entire AF hair care range on wash day, working the products together in harmony for optimum hair health and style.
Our pro tip is to wash your hair as sparingly as possible with cool water to maintain it’s condition. If you do need to clean your hair a little more often, try the AF Vacay Volumizing Dry Shampoo for that little refresh you crave in between wash days.
Now you’re all set, Fox! What shade will you try next? Don't forget to tag us @arcticfoxhaircolor in your next look!
]]>The Fox Fam are already totally head over heels in love with the awesome AF hair color range. But hold up, there’s more?! Yup.
NEED more of THOSE bright colors? Sure you do. Want even more intricate shades, patterns, and prints, but this time for your nails? Well, duh!
That’s why we’ve been mixing up some of our most popular shades into the Foxology collection of nail lacquers with all the bold AF colors you know. Sprinkle in patterns and prints and your nails can become a canvas with unlimited possibilities; you can paint almost anything your mind can imagine.
Before you unleash your nail art work worthy of the Louvre, we need to do a little basic prep, but don’t worry we’ve made it simple to follow, even for Nail Art novices.
Nail Art: The Basics
Start With a Clean, Dry Base
Just like when dyeing your hair, you’ll want to always start off your nail art with clean, dry nails.
Visionaries like us (tongue slightly in cheek) need a clean slate to work with. Start by scrubbing away any old polish to reveal your blank canvas. But it’s not quite time to dip the brush into the paint yet.
First up, cleanse the nail bed to make sure your nails are clean underneath too, because this will not only give you healthier nails, but also a better overall look once you add your custom nail art. We always use lukewarm water to soak and clean under nails to reduce the drying impact on the skin and prevent aging (it’s totally preferable to scorching your skin in molten hot water). We’re always looking out for you, Fox.
Now, you might want to trim and file your nails BEFORE painting to get them in tip-top shape for your design. Since you're creating nail art, try not to cut them too short - you might need that extra real estate to work with for your exquisite patterns.
Follow these simple steps and you’ll soon have a perfect clean surface to add a base coat before you add polish!
Use a Base Coat
You’ll want to set up the right foundations for your inner Picasso with a base coat. Apply one layer of base coat and allow it to completely dry before moving forward. *Waits impatiently* *Twiddles thumbs*
Base coats are usually clear or slightly bluish in color and protect your nails from getting stained or damaged by nail polish and other nail art materials. The long story short is, your base coat will help the polish stay in place longer, without chipping the design, so it’s kind of a must have if you want your dazzling nail display to last.
We have a fab base coat with all the juicy and healthy vitamins you nails need to thrive in our Foxology line up. It sets things up perfectly, ready for your masterpieces. (Muse entirely optional).
Intricate Designs
For intricate designs, make sure your base layer is fully dry and has enough coats (2- 3 usually works) this will make your design easier to realize and it will last MUCH longer.
Fox Pro Tip: Plan out your design! It’s easy to get carried away and jump right into painting, but.... planning the execution of intricate designs before-hand and knowing what you want to create step-by-step usually results in something more beautiful and refined.
Here’s another couple of pointers for your application technique.
Ombre
If you’re going for an ombre effect, use a sponge. Apply the polish with the sponge from the tip of the nail downwards with a tapping or pressing motion.
With the first coat decide where the ombre line will finish. Use a clean side of the sponge to dab and fade out the finishing line. Finally, apply a second coat over the top section of the nail and gently fade it out to blend in with the previous coat and achieve the ombre pattern to faded perfection.
Need a little more ombre inspo? Try out Sunset Orange and Cosmic Sunshine for an ombre that’s prettier than a sunset. Or completely switch temperatures and blend Periwinkle into Sheer Nude for a cool blue and white winter ombre tone.
Patterns
To shape intricate designs on your nails with patterns use a much smaller pointed brush to have greater control over the lines and artwork you create. You are working in a small space so it makes sense to use a smaller tool, right!?
For bonafide proof this works, check out how @nailartbysig created this awesome blood drip effect design ready for Halloween with Foxology shades and a fine brush. It’s the inspo you need!
And there’s more. @nailartbysig has been maxing out the potential of the Foxology collection with some delicious color and pattern combos.
Going as a “Pink Lady” with your crew this Halloween? This powerful pink mix of Frose and Virgin Pink has us calling our squad immediately. With a unique pattern on each nail this look has some added complexity that we find completely satisfying.

This palette spikes heart rates and elevates feline, witch, troll, or clown outfits from ‘awww cute’ to ‘ohhh snap’.
If you want to go all cosplay for Halloween, we’ve seen everyone's favorite purple used to perfectly emulate one of Marvel’s most badass characters; Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.
And of course, we can’t forget the mixes! Purple AF is one of our most versatile shades - and for good reason! Get a deep cobalt blue with a half and half ratio of Purple AF and Poseidon, and if you want to go even more pigmented, throw in some Aquamarine!
Get a deep burgundy by mixing in Purple AF with some Wrath or Poison.
Yeahhh… Purple AF is THAT girl for spooky season.
@143joannagc in Purple AF
Green hair is soooo right for this time of year. And it’s a certified Halloween costume superpower.
Think green slime, Frankenstein, Joker from Batman, and viridescent potions. Or vibe with green tresses like one of our fave characters from the underworld - Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice (Yeah, we said it 3 times).
From neon greens, emeralds, to dark forest greens - there’s lots of room for Halloween costume playfulness here. So if you wanna channel Jared Leto’s Joker for instance, an electric green is the way to go. Space Cowgirl hits the spot with electric and neon vibes.
Or maybe you feel like expressing your inner Beetlejuice. Beej’s hair changes along with his emotions, from a seagreen, to a darker, moodier green. Phantom Green can deliver a delightful deep forest shade that can add a little menace to your Beetlejuice look on October 31st. Or if you prefer to go a little softer and hit Beetlejuice in his sea green hair era, here’s some mixing inspo. Swish Phantom Green with a little Aquamarine to create an emerald or sea green hue.
Multi-color mixes and split color looks can crackle under the Halloween moonlight. We love this orange and black split color as two of the seasons most on trend shades. It’s an epic contrast, and this look gives off boundless dark October energy.

Our Fox Fam is out there, making a real difference! You know that our products are all vegan and cruelty-free, but did you know that we donate 15% of our profits to rescues and shelters that help our furry and feathered friends? One of our rescue partners has some exciting news that we are thrilled to share.
If you’ve been following our story for a while, you’ll remember that in March we added a new rescue to our roster: the Judith A Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center (JABCECC). We talked all about them and their awe-inspiring work here. Basically, they home and care for canids that have been rescued from fur farms, research institutions or the exotic animal pet trade. They also do the important work of educating the public about these amazing creatures.
These rockstars have just sent us a photo of their newest pack member:
She’s a geriatric arctic fox female badly in need of some TLC. Luckily for her, JABCECC managed to get her to them—a trip that took 38 hours! Now that she’s safely tucked up in their quarantine area they can start giving her the vet care that she’s never had.
She’s lived her entire life on a fur farm, where it’s likely that this sweet creature was used as a breeder every season. Obviously, now she’s older and can’t have any more pups, which means she was in danger of being euthanized. Her new home is full of love… but after a lifetime of being mistreated it will take her a long time to adjust❤️🩹. She’s finally made it to a good place, and we hope she can relax and feel safe soon.
And JABCECC really is a Good Place. It houses different canids that have been saved and/or rescued and respects all animals and their right to live.
When we first discovered this rescue, we wanted to help them right away. In fact, the money that we donated to them in the spring has already gone towards expanding perimeter fencing! Their plan is to have an area just for our spirit animals, where this lovely grandma and the center’s other arctic fox, Freddy Snowballs, will be able to live their best lives.
Because fences for these nimble jumpers need to be 8 feet tall and made of heavy-duty chain link, they are taking their time to make sure it’s done properly. It’s slow going and costs money, but they’re working towards that goal with the help of donations and their partners (like us!).
It’s so important that we support the paws on the ground making real differences in the lives of animals. And that’s why we love when they share their latest wins. We have our fingers crossed that we get a lot of great updates about their new arrival and even more great news from their longer-term residents. As a part of our Fox Fam, we know you’re as happy as we are knowing that every time you add to your Arctic Fox collection, you’re contributing to these great organizations. Keep up the good work, JABCECC team, we are proud to help support your wonderful work.
]]>We’ve been mixing up a storm this week and had to jump on here to share with our Fox Fam some of our favorite discoveries. Nothing is more exciting to us than experimenting with hair colors, and the endless color blends and creative applications for our AF hair color range that are just… *chef’s kiss*. Even more exciting is when we go wild and start throwing together colors that shouldn’t work together—but absolutely do.
Here are some traffic-stopping new hues that we’ve created with some seriously unexpected color pairings. If you’ve been collecting our color range at home but you’re not quite sure they work together, you might be in for a pleasant surprise. Read on and have a look at some of the surprising ways our AF Hair Colors come together to shake up the rainbow.
Why are AF dyes so great for mixing?
AF’s range of colors is truly full of endless possibilities - the bolds, brights, and pastels show up incredibly on their own. But if you’re looking for something new, or want to add a surprising twist to your usual color routine, you can totally mix away to your heart’s content! You’d be surprised at the stunning shades you can create. 👀
Sometimes you might need a little inspiration when it comes to cooking up a new look, we’re here to save the day with all the inspo - ratios and swatches included! Ready to dive in? Let’s get into the mixes you wouldn’t think would work, but omg do they!
✨AF Pro Tip✨ Once you’ve found a great hair color, you can stick with it and keep it intense with regular dyeing, or switch it up for something totally new! AF dyes are hydrating and deep conditioning, so coloring your hair as many times as you want is completely safe.
Mixes you wouldn’t think work but do
First up on our list of surprising mixes is this velvety hue. 60% Blue Jean Baby to 40% Sterling gives the blue a serious depth. This swatch shows the results on a platinum base, but you’ll get a similar result on a medium blonde, and a gorgeous tint on light brown.
Electric Paradise with a drop of Wrath gives us this 5-alarm siren of a color that is hard to predict from two colors on the same slice of the color wheel. It’s bold and bright, but it still gives ‘sexy’. Again, a platinum base here yields this exact color, but up to a medium blonde will see the same color and a light brown will still get a tint.
Ginger Flare, Space Cowgirl, and Frosé on a medium blonde base bring a fiery edge to your locks, in what might be our most unexpected blend yet. How can you get it? The mix to get this one just right is 70% Ginger Flare,15% Space Cowgirl, and 15% Frosé.
Arctic Mist Diluter, Poison, and Girl’s Night make a bubblegum pink that will stand out no matter where you show it off. What’s extra fun about this cotton candy hue is that adjusting the mix is a snap. So this swatch (on platinum) is about 80% Arctic Mist, 10% Poison and 10% Girl’s Night, but if you find it’s a bit dark just add in more Arctic Mist!
Space Cowgirl and Virgin Pink in a 50:50 ratio brings out a cinnabar hue in the final mix, and on a platinum base it gives a va-va-voom effect that can really pack a punch.
Space Cowgirl and Periwinkle join forces to create an unexpectedly dark, leafy, earthy green. A simple 50:50 mix will get this result on a platinum base.
For a dreamy twist on a calming green hue, add 75% Neverland and 25% Transylvania in your fave mixing bowls and adjust away! If you want darker, drop in more Transylvania… if you like it on the lighter side of the spectrum, use less. This color feels very ‘underwater fantasy’ to us. FYI this swatch is on a platinum base but you’ll still get a lovely deep teal tint on darker colors.
Basic rules of mixing
If you’re going to use this post as the match to your potion-making fire, make sure to follow a couple of basic rules:
You don’t know until you try

]]>Going green without bleaching
Welcome back, Fox Fam! We went dark last week, and the results we’re seeing are dangerously head-turning. One color, in particular, seems to be popping up as a common theme in your potions and mixes. Abundance, renewal, harmony, stability. Yes, that’s right, it is easy being green! The ultimate down-to-earth color can represent all of those wonderful things. Aside from being hella powerful, it’s damn easy on the eyes.
If a change is in the cards for you but you’re going to give the lightening step a skip this time, then you have come to the right corner. FACT: Aside from being a great transitional hue and an absolute gem of a color, green can bring lush living color to even unbleached hair. It’s true!
Due to our expertise with the color wheel and the fact that you fashion-forward Foxes are excellent sharers, we’re seeing A LOT of creativity on our radar right now. So we’re taking this week as an opportunity to share some of the amazing green-based mixes that have been tried, tested, and adored. This week we give some great color inspo for our emerald-inclined babes, PLUS the exact ratios you need to get the mix just right.
If you’re already green…
…but if you want to darken the shade for fall, we went over two ways to darken your color last week. You can go back and read it here if you happened to skip last week’s blog, or here’s a recap:
One way to double down on green is to level up on intensity. Do this by blending in a darker level of green with your current color mix. For example, if you’re already rocking Neverland, punch it up with some Phantom Green to move from a brighter to a darker shade.
The other way we covered was more subtle and involves a look at our famously helpful color wheel blog post. This involves finding your current color on the wheel and then drawing a line to the opposite side of the wheel! If you’re Iris Green, a couple of drops of Wrath will help you darken just the green hues.
Go green with these custom blends
One thing that we love about our AF hair dyes is that they are so inventive! They bring out the magic-potion-blending witches and warlocks in all of us. Here are a couple of must-try green mixes that have been discovered by more than a few alchemists, and look really great on unbleached hair.
Olive — not just for martinis anymore🍸! Get the ultimate down-to-earth green by using Phantom Green, Cosmic Sunshine, Sunset Orange, and Transylvania. Watch our reel for the mix ratios, and enjoy responsibly ;)
Aquamarine & Space Cowgirl get together for a green-shifted teal mix. To make this color yours, start with a heavy base of Space Cowgirl and slowly add in drops of Aquamarine until you reach your desired shade.
#AFprotip Aquamarine is a VERY pigmented shade. So go slow on the mixing, or Space Cowgirl may get overpowered.
This swatch shows the strong result of this blend on bleached hair, so keep in mind that depending on your base shade, you’ll get a slightly different outcome.
Phantom Green and Aquamarine are a green team dream. 2:1 Phantom Green to Aquamarine is the magic formula, but remember that Aquamarine packs a punch, so start with your Phantom Green and add in the Aquamarine bit by bit so you don’t overdo it. This sample square is done on bleached hair, so depending on your base color, you’ll get a different (but still fabulous) outcome.
Diamonds, move over: emeralds are a girl’s best friend this fall. For the ultimate jewel tone, this mix is simply equal parts Phantom Green and Aquamarine, with a drop or two of Transylvania mixed in. If you want to be inspired, watch Stella Cini color-shifting into an emerald.
This swatch shows a dark outcome, even on bleached hair, so your hair color will be a little different, depending on your base level.
Green’s great and the options are endless
Now that we’ve shown you how to get shades of green that work better for you, make sure you’re using the mixing and application tools and techniques that will get you the best results (patch & strand test always!) Our Lime AF tint bowl and brushes make going green easy to do.
Don’t forget that blends and mixes are a fun way to get new shades, but they don’t need to be a whole-head change-up! Color combos that slay with green are always a fun way to express your inner color-fiend, or you can simply add in some DIY lowlights to your cut and flirt with some new styles to show them off.

Keep your look top-class this fall
You can embrace the change, or you can dread it. But you can’t deny it: summer is over, baby. We’re working on ditching our late sleep-ins (dry shampoo for the win!), have restocked our coffee supplies, bought the organizers, and are getting used to the sound of the alarm. But how has our Fox Fam been falling back into a routine? Let’s just say that leaves aren’t the only things that are changing color!
Lustrous, rich hair tones can make even the most boring schedules feel brighter, and with the onset of busy days, we’re seeing a rise in the deep, dark tones. They can be low-maintenance while still being high-impact, and they give the rich feeling of thicker hair that autumn styles show off the best. On top of that, blends and color combinations keep the looks as interesting as you are.
Whatever your day-to-day looks like this fall, we’re excited to see everyone in dark mode.
New you, new hue
Good news, stargazers: Venus is out of retrograde💫! As (we’re sure) you already know, this means it’s a great time to start fresh with whatever’s been blocked for you lately. Romance can get kicked into high gear, work and creativity will start flowing, and we can’t think of a better sign that it’s time for a brand-new look.
Part of your 2023 back-to-real-life glow-up should be a hair color that you’re stoked to show off — not to mention the noticeably hydrated and healthy hair that comes with using our AF deep-conditioning hair dyes. We’ve mentioned a few times lately that we are really digging the transition from summer ‘cools’ to autumn ‘warms’, and that means going for a darker tone than what you rocked during the sunny season. Plus your hair will be totally in step with Fall 2023’s palette, making your hair the perfect accessory and always on-point.
There’s something else that a darker tone gives to your updated ‘do—aside from all that lovely confidence that comes with a makeover, that is. Going to the dark side of the color wheel gives the gift of a low-maintenance mane.
In our previous blog on warm hair colors, we explained how a simple warm color can add depth to your hair that will give you a thicker, fuller-looking style without needing extra time with your diffuser. When you combine your warm-color lowlights with a time-saving volumizing shampoo you’re going to have a full look all day.
✨Remember that changing your look doesn’t have to mean changing your beliefs, and that’s why as much as we love watching your evolution, we’ll never be anything other than vegan and cruelty-free. Dye away, and with AF dark hair dyes, you’re dyeing for a cause.
To Bleach or Not to Bleach?
Real talk: Summer puts your hair through the wringer with chlorine, salt water, and sun damage. Keep in mind that even though we pack our potions to the brim with hair-helping ingredients, you can choose to skip the bleaching step now and again. You can also be creative and use it only in sections. Our influencers have found some truly jaw-dropping ways to only color parts of their hair—and still stun. Money pieces are a great example of a simple switch-up that can change your whole look, without changing your entire head.

AF’s Bleach, Please is as gentle as a lightener can get, and even has added goodness to keep your hair healthy while it works. And yes, AF’s range of hair color dyes produces a truer color match when they are used on lighter hair. But if you’re looking for a tint without putting your hair through the bleaching process, you can opt for a beautiful color undertone that will come through even on darker or already dyed hair.
For an idea on how your color will turn out with your natural or current base color, have a look at our guide to using AF hair dyes on unbleached hair. If you like how these look, we’ve grouped all the colors here for easy shopping!
Pro-tip: Knowing your hair’s color level will be key to planning your look, and we can help you with that, too! Just cruise by this gem of an explainer which breaks it down for you.
Of course, the only way to get the strong, intense pop of color you see on some of our most colorful influencers is to lighten your hair first.

Stir it up for some killer color
Remember: going dark doesn’t mean melting into the surroundings, and it certainly shouldn’t mean you’re stuck with one color! Blend your pastes for a unique shade, or combine multiple colors into your locks for a truly standout fall look. In our last blog, we talked about this fall’s trending hairstyles, and there was a lot of mention of color accents and how to use them.
In particular, the money pieces and the peekaboo styles work best when the color is applied precisely (and only!) where you want it. Because we want our Fox Fam’s hair dreams to come true and your looks exactly as you envisioned them, we recommend that you use our gentle-on-hair alligator clips to keep your sections secured and under control while you work.

Warm up your hair color for fall 2023
Alright Fox Fam, bring it in for a huddle. We are in September, which means that summer is officially ending. This is not a drill! Shorter days are cooling us off, our neighborhood smells like pumpkin spice and cinnamon, and cuddly clothing is back on the radar.
Even more importantly: colors are changing. Those lush, vibrant greens are transitioning to gorgeous golds and stunning reds. And those are just the trees! Join them in welcoming the cozy months and warm up your hair color this fall.
If you’re ready for an end-of-summer look shake-up but want some help deciding which warm hair color will have you stepping into autumn looking your best, dive in here. We explain everything you need to know about the warm colors in the AF hair dye range and why fall is the best time to show them off.
What are warm hair colors and how do they change our look?
In August, we gave you the skinny on just what we mean when we say ‘warm’ and ‘cold’, when we talk about colors. Take a quick peek now to refresh if you need it, we’ll wait!
Warm colors are the ones you see in the heart of the fire: yellows, oranges, and reds… AKA: autumn colors! And AF’s selection of these hearth-y hues covers the entire warm spectrum. So from Violet Dream to Neon Moon, let’s take our cue from nature and let our fall colors show. You’ll be surprised at the change that you’ll see in your skin as well as your hair.
From yellow to red, AF brings the vibrant autumn look you want!

What do warm colors do for our skin tones?
Have you ever heard ‘like attracts like’? The same thing happens to colors and your eyes.
“Wut?”
OK, it’s a weird thought, that’s true. But think of matching your bag and your shoes. You don’t wear your purse on your feet, and you don’t carry your shoes over your arm (barring the cab ride home after those late-night dancing frenzies), so why do we want them to complement each other?
Your eye will naturally notice similar colors in the same field of vision, even if they’re not right beside each other, or even on the same thing! That can make accessorizing tricky, but when used correctly this secret knowledge can be harnessed for good!
Here’s how: rIght now, the sun’s power is fading as we head towards the winter solstice, which means that your tan is *sobs* fading, but you can make your tan last longer! Keep the warm tones in your skin on display with hair colors from the warm side of the spectrum.
Here is a head-turning example from @v2daline absolutely rocking Sunset Orange!
What can a warm color do for our hair?
Not only can warm hair colors keep our skin looking sun-kissed long after our last beach day, but they give the hair itself a deep personality! Those warming tones are fabulous at reflecting light — even when there’s less of it, like during fall and winter. That means your hair not only looks shiny, but it also makes it look thicker and fuller.
Why is autumn the best time to go for warm colors?
After a long, hot, bright summer, your body naturally craves change. And you’re not the only one. Here’s a little fact for ya: leaves are actually always red and yellow! However, in summer they also produce chlorophyll, which is a deep, strong green that overshadows the leaves’ natural warm pigments. As summer turns to fall, the trees are getting ready for their big seasonal transformation and the chlorophyll bows out, letting us finally see the glorious colors it's been hiding.
So don’t fight it! Lean into your autumnal instincts, and let the reds and yellows be the light you carry into the cooler months. We know you’re feeling the sun in Virgo and planning ahead, so choose your hair color wisely. With less sunlight to pick up your highlights, use the natural brilliance your gorgeous hair gets from AF’s warm range.
The best part? The AF colors on the warm spectrum are not limited to a handful of hues. We have Violet Dream all the way to Neon Moon, which means that if you can’t pick one, that’s because there are too many!

What changing weather does to hair
Yes, humidity can be a pain. It can make your hair frizzy when you want it full, textured when you want it sleek, or just plain difficult when you want it effortless. But, love it or hate it, it brings some added body to your coif.
With colder temps, there’s less moisture locked into the air around us, meaning our hair doesn’t get the benefit of added bounce and body that humidity can bring.
There is also the dreaded ‘static flyaways’ that drier air can bring. *shudder*
Here’s where AF hair dye can save not just your look, but also your look. As a conditioning hair dye, it’s non-damaging to your hair and locks moisture into your cuticle—along with the eye-popping color you want.
Look at the healthy bounce on @kingyayis, wearing Ginger Flare.
Which warm hair color should you choose?
Let’s get down to brass tacks: how can you, the creative Fox that you are, decide which of AF’s warm hair colors will best show off your current personality?
Easy! Pick your fave.
In the red and orange ranges, the selection is superb. Ginger Flare takes top trending color, showing a gorgeous reddish cayenne hue on dark hair and a true ginger on blonde locks. Poison comes in hot with a true red ‘n fiery look that ALWAYS turns heads. For dark hair, it shows up as a deep subtle tint, but for hair levels 8 or lighter, you’ll get that vibrant red hot look! Cosmic Sunshine is knocking it out of the park right now with the cheeriest hue to match this fall’s palette. You can even mix in some Frosé for a sweet golden shade.
But ultimately…you do you: match with your favorite fall makeup look, your coziest scarf, your nails, or even go for a complementing color to pop against your new bomber jacket. Choose your own color adventure, and AF will take care of your hair while you simply shine.

By layering a VERY diluted Violet Dream over your faded green or blue, you'll experience Lavender Bliss. The blue and green undertones will be tamed into a soft, pastel dream, resulting in a perfect fusion of warmth and coolness that's sure to leave heads turning.
Arctic Fox's Aquamarine is a shade that dares to challenge convention. If you’re working with a faded pink or red, this shade will create a stunning contrast that revitalizes your fade. The bold teal hues mixed with the faded tones will create a purple shifting blue shade depending on how intense your color is underneath.
Brunette bases, we didn’t forget about you. Did you know that some of our shades work over brunette bases as gorgeous tints? Elevate your brown tresses by layering a mixture of Sunset Orange or Ginger Flare mixed with Purple AF. The warmth of our orange shades will give off a beautiful copper tint all on their own, but mixed with Purple AF this will give off a rose gold tint sure to stun.

]]>I'm going to be covering ALL the bases (literally), as we dive into getting the shade you want… Without bleaching, of course! If you’re just giving your hair a break from bleaching or newly entering into the world of color and you want to start somewhere simple, this is the place for you. Let’s jump right in 🤸♀️
First, let’s talk about our bases! 👩🦳
Light Brown - Dark Blonde
Generally, you can get a SUPER gorgeous light coverage or tint at this level using our more pigmented colors. Here is where you’ll find a list of our most pigmented shades 😉 our swatches show examples of how each color may turn out depending on your level!
Brown
With brown hair, it’s best to use warm and rich colors like Purple AF or Wrath! Since these shades are deeper and contain a highly pigmented formula, the dye has the ability to really settle on the hair and ever so slightly within the hair cuticles. This will help to achieve a gorgeous tint! With semi permanent color you won’t have to worry about any dye damaging your hair's natural color. Even though the shade settles, it will wash out over time. Need color removal tips? Here’s some helpful information on how to fade your color.
Black/Deep Black
Black hair is typically too dark for any color payout, but this is common across the board. In order to achieve any vivid color, you’ll want to consider pre-lightening. Our Bleach, Please Lightening Kit has all that you need to easily bleach your hair at home!
Gray
Since unbleached and/or gray hair can vary in how well it takes color, it’s not easy to say EXACTLY how the color will turn out but in general, if you stick with darker and more highly pigmented colors you should get at least a tint of color to gray hair! Typically, gray’s are more coarse than your natural hair and gray hair follicles create less oil, this makes the hair more dry and harder for color to penetrate but we have SO many gray haired Foxes who look GORGEOUS in pinks, purples and blues. Fresh gray roots are also non-porous which can make it resistant to color, so you may have to leave the color on longer and add heat to open the hair’s cuticle.
Dark Gray
When I think Dark Grey, I think salt & pepper hair. If your hair is more of a dark gray, the color might turn out a few shades darker and more subtle than it would look on lighter shades of gray (as seen above), and unbleached hair does tend to lose color faster as well, so just a heads up! You can usually achieve a light ‘stain’ on salt & pepper roots!
✨ AF Pro Tip ✨ Our dyes are conditioning and made with no harsh chemicals that are known to damage your hair, so leaving it on longer is completely okay!
PAUSE… I have to get something off my chest. I cannot stress enough how important it is to perform a strand test. As everyone's hair is different, results can always vary! 💗 Strand tests are the best way to know for certain.
Okay okay, PROCEED ✌️🤪 Now that we have an idea of what we’re going for, we can get to the colors! We have lots to pick from 🎨
