Arctic Fox Hair Color Spotlight | Arctic Mist
Fox Fam, have you ever wondered how to achieve your favorite pastel tone using Arctic Fox Hair Colors? Our Arctic Mist diluter lets you express yourself without limits and customize any color you can imagine! Read on to find out what Arctic Mist is and how to use it like a pro! So what exactly is Arctic Mist? Our diluter is our dye base, without pigment added to it. It will always mix perfectly with any other Arctic Fox color to ensure you get the most consistent results! While you can dilute with conditioner instead, conditioners may contain oils or silicone that can prevent the pigment in the dye from sticking correctly to your hair, causing a patchy or faded result. With Arctic Mist, there’s never a risk of extra ingredients blocking the pigment! As long as your hair is light enough for the color to show, any pastel or customized shade you can imagine is possible! Arctic Mist is just as simple to use as any other Arctic Fox shade. For most pastels, you’ll want to start with a base of Arctic Mist in your bowl, just about enough to fully cover your hair, then add a few drops of your darker shade. Mix it up and you’ll have a soft pastel version of that color! Start by adding just a drop or two of the darker AF shade and add more as needed - you really only need a little bit to get a pastel (especially if you’re using a dark color), and too much pigment will make the color get dark pretty quickly. It doesn’t get much simpler than that, but if your color does turn out a few shades darker than you’d hoped, try washing your hair a few times in warm water to help speed up the fading process! Wondering how to get a base hair color light enough for pastels to take? Please keep in mind that Arctic Mist is not a dye, toner, or lightening product. It will not make your hair any lighter than it already is, and will not have any significant toning effect on the hair either. Unfortunately it is not possible to “dye” hair white, because white is the absence of all pigment in the hair. Semi-permanent direct dyes work by adding pigment to the hair! So to achieve white hair, you would need to remove the pigment from the hair, using bleach and toner to do so. Adding a drop or two of Purple AF and Poseidon into a base of Arctic Mist diluter will give you a light toner if your hair is not quite at a platinum range, but Arctic Mist by itself will not have a significant toning effect. Just remember, the lighter the color, the lighter the hair needs to be in order for the color to show, so make sure your hair is lightened to an appropriate level for your goal shade to get the best results!
