    Retail Education Manager

    The Retail Education Manager is responsible for supporting growth and deployment of training and education strategies, assets, and platforms for our brick-and-mortar retailers including Ulta, Sally Beauty and Hot Topic. This is a leadership position responsible for creating and overseeing new and existing educational programs and materials to drive brand loyalty, brand awareness and ultimately, increased retail sales.




    • Responsible for the development of education programs including launch strategy, pillar support and field implementation. 
    • Utilizing both in-house and outside production teams, will create education presentations, videos, and other assets to effectively communicate brand identity, values, and product details 
    • Work with and grow network of professional stylist educators for educational assets
    • Drives education department’s creative projects, both digital and non-digital
    • Builds and maintains a comprehensive information system for a variety of education materials such as product knowledge, display concepts, sales techniques, promotion programs, and system/procedural requirements. 
    • Delivery and oversight of education curriculum and strategy 
    • Create powerful, trusting relationships with both retail partners, stylist network and internal teams
    • Work with retailers and approve retail and sales promotions
    • Hold weekly update meetings with leadership team
    • Establish, forecast and monitor sales objectives by retailer
    • Analyze competition and changes in marketplace, implement action where needed
    • Promote, plan, coordinate and execute company-sponsored educational events
    • Attend all company meetings and trainings
    • Recruits and hires beauty advisors and freelancers with Director of Operations 
    • Assesses performance of beauty advisors/sales associates to deliver constructive feedback and to create an action-oriented plan for success 
    • Conducts on-the-job education at counter (face to face coaching)
    • Serves as professional role model who inspires and motivates beauty advisors/sales associates to consistently uphold a positive brand image

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
    • 3-4 years of related experience in Education, Field Development, Retail Sales, Instructional Design or Team Training
    • North America Market experience (USA and Canada) is a must; beauty industry experience preferred 
    • Experience working with US retailers and their education platforms/ initiatives 
    • Exceptional communication, presentation and training skills
    • Highly adaptive with strong reactive skills 
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable working with marketing and social media departments
    • Compatible philosophy on leadership, work ethic and brand image
    • Strategic and analytical thinking
    • Detail-oriented multitasker with proven track record of timely preparation, coordination and facilitation of required educational content
    • Demonstrated operational effectiveness of educational programs 
    • Computer Skills required: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Wrike, Slack, general comfort with new platforms
