@glitterbubblegum_ answers questions just for you! | #FoxFamily

Think you've dyed your hair a lot? This beaut has done it around 100 times!! Read on to see what else this bubblegum fox is up to!

What’s the best thing that happened to you last year?

The best thing that happened to me last year was when my fiancé took me to London to see Cirque du Soleil. It was amazing!

How long have you been doing makeup?

Not that long. I started my Instagram in October 2015, and I only started my account because I was bored, I didn´t think anyone would see it. But as my Instagram grew so did my interest for makeup. I discovered a whole new world in social media. I love creating different looks and I love that it is ok to put pink eyeshadow all over your face if that´s what you want to do. I met so many great people and I have learned so much this past year!

How many times do you think you've colored your hair?

I don´t know. Probably around 100 times. The last 5 years I have changed color every 3-4 weeks, and sometimes more frequently. Since I mostly use pastel colors it is easier to change color often and it also fades quickly so I don´t have to remove the old color every time I want a new one. I only bleach my roots every other month. That is probably the reason my hair hasn't fallen off yet!

    When did you start?

I have been coloring my hair for 11 years. I started dyeing a red stripe in my natural blonde hair when I was 15 years old. Then I dyed it black before I cut it short and bleached it to a platinum blonde and added some pastel pink. After bleaching it for the first time I got more bold and I have (for the most part) been doing my own hair ever since, experimenting with different colors but mostly different pastel shades.

How do you post such amazing looking Instagram photos?

Even though I don´t know that much about makeup, I have studied photography. So I know how to use light to my advantage and I do have a good camera that I use when I take my pictures.

    What's your favorite dessert?

Anything chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate cookies, chocolate ice cream. I´m sure I could live on chocolate!

What will you be doing in 5 years?

I have no idea. Hopefully something fun!

What do you see yourself doing with your Instagram and youtube in 2017?

I will hopefully get more into YouTube. I really enjoy making videos but I need more practice so I can get to the quality level I want. I would also like to post more on Instagram. Just generally create more content and get better at it.

    Best,
    Marte

What's your favorite color or color combination?

I love the color black, and pink. But never together. As far as hair color goes, I love violet and emerald green together. That was one of my favorite color combinations I've had in my hair.

If you could be any animal in the world what would you be and why?

Oh gosh, hmmmmm. I love to sleep, so I guess a cat ahahaha. But also I think being a panda would be cool. They just hang out and eat all day.

How did you get into modeling and acting?

Well, I started modeling when I was in art school in Minnesota. I was asked by other students to be their model for projects because I had colorful hair, tattoos, and an 'interesting look'. Before that I hated my picture taken, but I got used to the camera. I started shooting more and more for fun. I moved to California shortly after finishing college, and continued to model for fun and small projects. I began background acting first to make some money in LA, and to not have to get a 'real job'. I really loved being on set and around the entertainment industry, so I started pushing more towards acting and getting bigger gigs and auditions. Now, a few years later I have worked with some of the biggest artists in the world, and biggest brands. I would have never imagined all of these happening 5 years ago, but if you set your mind to something you'd be surprised what could happen.

What's the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

Hmmm, funniest thing that has happened to me recently ... I got to feed a giraffe some lettuce. Idk lol!

What are your goals when it comes to your Instagram and other social media?

With the start of a new year I definitely have tons of goals for myself including pushing myself and my modeling/acting to the next level. I would love to get published in magazines, maybe even get a cover, as well as really putting in effort on my youtube channel. (youtube.com/jenniferbroders)

What's one other thing that you are you working on in 2017 outside of social media?

This year I am working towards getting bigger acting roles, especially a principle role in a  television show. Or even a reoccurring role (that'd be awesome). Other than that I want to volunteer more with animals when I have the time.

If you could change Instagram to make it better what's one thing you would do to it, or is it perfect the way it is?

I would really love Instagram to go back to how it was before, where posts were in chronological order. It's super annoying going down my timeline, and seeing stuff that was posted a day ago, and then going to some of my favorite accounts and seeing that I haven't seen any of their posts. Apps changed, and I'm super interested in seeing what the next 'Instagram' will be. Let's bring back Myspace!

Would you suggest someone move to LA? Is it cool or nah?

Yes, and no. LA is great for some things. I moved away from Minnesota to get out of the cold/snow and now that I'm in LA I hide from the sun/heat. I need something in the middle. As far as work and such, there are endless opportunities here. There is definitely no other place to make it 'big' than LA, but Hollywood is definitely DEFINITELY overrated.

If you were a mythical creature from a fantasy novel, what kind of creature would you be and what would the novel be called?

I would be something like Falkor from The Neverending Story, ahahaha he's one of my favorites.

What's one of the most important things to you in life right now?

That's a toughie. I guess it would be my work/goals/dream/ambitions, and to not give up (so cheesy i know ahaha).

What's the meaning of your Instagram name @athousandchapters?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I'd like to think that a lot of photos are A Thousand Chapters.

What are you looking forward to in 2017?

Traveling, festivals, new trends and movies.

What item of clothing do you wear the most?

My Adicts Tee!! It's super comfortable and I bought it right after I saw them play at Beach Goth.

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?

    Being self employed and traveling.

Would you ever get a dog and what kind if so?

I've always dreamed of having a husky named Howl but my cat, ninja, would not be very happy about it.

What do you call your aesthetic and where do you derive it from?

Secondhand is my style. Thrift stores and handed down 90's clothing/accessories from my sisters are the best.

What's on your favorite playlist right now?

Tame Impala, Mac Demarco, Black Sabbath, The Growlers, Com Truise and Avenged Sevenfold are the most recently played on my list.

What's the funnest thing that you did in 2016?

There were so many wonderful moments in 2016 but my birthday road trip to the Grand Canyon with my family was a memory I'll never forget. Also, the stars out there at night are incredible and what I live for.

    Yours Truly,
    Mickylene

Happy belated birthday! It's a new year and you've just turned 26. What's the first thing you are going to be working on in 2017?

Thank you! I usually skip New Year’s resolutions, because I believe in pushing yourself towards your goals all year round instead of just making a new list of things at the beginning of each year. I’m currently focusing on my studies and working as a graphic designer while preparing myself for university in the future!

Your hair is so happy and bright. Why yellow instead of a more common color?

I actually had yellow hair twice when I was a teenager! Back then I wanted to avoid bleaching too much while still going through as many bright colors as possible. So I changed colors in a pattern like: yellow to orange, orange to red, red to pink and pink to purple. Yellow was a good color to start the cycle with.

Before going yellow again last year, I had spent the past 3.5 years with pastel purple hair and before that I had grey hair, so I was ready for a more radical change. During those years, I had been thinking about dyeing my hair yellow every now and then, but because I am a person who thinks of their hair color as a part of their identity, I had a hard time leaving the purple after being with it for so long. However, I missed the yellow from over 10 years ago and after one night of discussing it and getting encouragement from my friends, I decided to go for it.

Right now I kinda wish I had the guts to do it sooner, that’s how cool I think it is!
I also think it’s cool that it’s one of the rare colors you don’t see so often. Usually everyone wants to get rid of their yellow tones instead of embracing it.

Where do you get your vibrant fashion inspiration from?

I discovered visual kei, a Japanese visual rock music genre when I was twelve and it led me to Japanese street fashion and alternative styles which are still my main inspiration to this day and a big reason for me to visit japan annually to stock up on some cool outfits. I follow a large number of artists and brands I like and other cool people on Instagram who I take inspiration from and make it my own. I also get inspired by different color combos and lately I’ve been obsessed with primary colors, because bright reds and blues work so well with yellow hair!

Do you have any pets or do you wanna get one?

I love cats and there have almost always been cats around me while growing up. I often dream about sharing my bed with ten cats but at this point in my life, I don’t want anything to hold me back when I want to travel or move around.

I also like small and chubby dogs, like french bulldogs or pugs, but I think I’m too much of a cat person to actually ever have a dog of my own. Big dogs scare the shit out of me.

What do you see yourself doing with your social media for the next few years?

I would like to work with many cool and interesting brands and companies that I believe in! It’s very important to me that I get to pick the brands that are interesting to me, so they would fit my image and make it appealing for my followers as well. I don’t want to lie and stand behind something I don’t believe in or what I personally wouldn’t purchase.

I’ve secretly been dreaming about landing a collab that would involve me designing something, so I hope I can accomplish that one day!

Who or what has motivated you to build your social media presence?

At first it wasn’t intentional at all. I put myself online because everyone was doing it and it was a good way to keep in touch with friends and acquaintances. I started blogging because it was fun to share bits of my life and style and after noticing I started to get followers, I kept doing it. I blogged for 8 years until I felt like it had lost the fun in it for me.

After a while I noticed that Instagram could offer me the same kind of fun I originally enjoyed with blogging, but without the feel of pressure to write a wall of text and post lots of photos every time to be considered as good. I think Instagram suits my interest the best and that’s why I’m focusing on it at the moment.

I’m still a small fry in the sea of popular Instagram influencers, but I hope I can grow by staying true to myself.

Who or what inspires you to become a better person in life?

My friends. I’m lucky to have such hard working and thriving people around me to call my friends. What we share besides the weird sense of humor, is the sense of perfectionism that makes us all do our best and aim higher, no matter what the goal is. Being very strict towards yourself is both a curse and a blessing. It might seem that you’re never satisfied with your achievement, but it’s also a force that pushes you forward and keeps you from getting sloppy. I find that very inspiring.
