Weird Science : Strange and Unusual Color Mixes.
We love creating custom color mixes for the Fox Fam and in honor of the spooky season we've decided to showcase some of the strangest mixes we have tried! You might not think Neon Moon + Sterling go together, but you'd be surprised how gorgeous some of these unique combinations are! Enjoy our unusual pairings and let us know if you have some of your own!
We love a deep teal around here. For this mix, we used a 50/50 mix of Poseidon and Neon Moon! I would start with Neon Moon in a bowl and add in Poseidon until you get your desired shade of teal! Make sure to swatch and strand test!
Start with a bowl of Girls Night and mix in a dollop of Transylvania to get this deep/smoky blue/purple shade! This will show up as different hues on different base colors but the purple helps cancel out any yellow tones you might have in your hair. Either way, make sure you strand test! And be careful not to overdo it on the Transylvania since its super pigmented; a little goes a long way!
Since Sterling has a blue base it smokes out Electric Paradise a bit to give it a lovely berry/mauve color! Both of these shades are made for platinum base colors so you'll probably need white-toned or very pale yellow blonde hair to get vivid results with this shade. However, you could add Sterling to a deeper pink like Virgin Pink for similar results. We started with 2 parts Sterling and 1 part Electric Paradise and then added in a little more Electric Paradise until we got our desired shade.
Porange is a super bright neon orange, but when you add in a bit of Violet Dream (Purple and Orange are such different shades) it creates a warm, more subtle version of this color! Start with half a bowl of Porange and add in a dollop of Violet Dream and then add in more of your Porange until you get your desired shade! Your ratio of Porange: Violet Dream is probably going to be closer to 5:1.
This heavenly lilac is similar to Girls Night but it's cooler-toned and bit more neutral. Get a bowl of Neverland and then slowly add in drops of Violet Dream until you get your desired shade. Depending on your mix you can go more periwinkle or lilac. This shade is a pastel so it will work best on super, light blonde. pre-lightened hair but if you need to punch up the color you can just add in more Violet Dream!
Start with 3 parts Neon Moon and slowly add in 1 part Sterling, then adjust to your taste for this spooky chartreuse! Who would have thought Neon Moon and Sterling would be such good mixing buddies? You never know until you try right? We like to experiment so that you know what you're getting into. This will work best on pre-lightened platinum hair so make sure you do a strand test before applying all over!
