Transylvania: Dyeing with Our Semi-Permanent Black Dye

Hey Fox Fam! Calling all dark and stormy souls! We're shining a spotlight on Transylvania, our deepest, most highly-pigmented black shade. Here's the thing: Transylvania isn't just another black. It's our black sheep of the Arctic Fox family, with its cool, blue undertone to truly set it apart. Transylvania can be slightly tricky to work with due to its undertones and deep, dark color. But when you learn how to get the most out of it, you’ll fall in love and want to use it again, and again! Plus, those blue undertones make it one stop shop to achieve the ebony hair trend that we’ve been seeing everywhere in 2024. Unlocking the Shades of Transylvania: Transylvania will transform any base into the color of your darkest dreams. It shows its darkest, truest colors on hair lightened around a level 7 or higher, but darker bases are easily transformed into deep black. True Blue-Black: Want to amp it up? Mix in a touch of Poseidon or dilute Transylvania for a smoky navy masterpiece. Natural Black: Craving a classic black? Add a smidge of Sunset Orange to Transylvania. This neutralizes the blue and delivers a warmer, more natural look. Transylvania's Versatility Goes Beyond Black: This potent pigment isn't just for black hair dreams. Transylvania works wonders as a mixer: Smoky Denim Add a few drops to Arctic Mist Diluter for a light, smoky blue. Adjust the ratio for a deeper navy. Midnight Blue Boost a bowl of Poseidon or Blue Jean Baby with a dollop of Transylvania for rich, deep blues. Emerald Dreams Mix equal parts Phantom Green and Aquamarine, then add a touch of Transylvania for a deep, enchanting emerald. Smoky Turquoise A bowl of Neverland and a few drops of Transylvania create a mesmerizing smoky turquoise. Smoky Lilac Want a touch of smoke with your lilac? Start with a base of Arctic Mist Diluter, add a dollop of Virgin Pink, then tame it with a drop or two of Transylvania. Taming the Beast (Color Bleeding): Transylvania's high pigment can sometimes lead to bleeding. Fear not, Fox Fam! Here are some tips: Cold Rinse: After dyeing, rinse with cold water until it runs clear. This seals the hair cuticle and minimizes bleeding. Conditioner Wash: If color keeps bleeding, try a gentle conditioner-only wash. After-Color Cuticle Sealer: For stubborn cases, consider an after-color cuticle sealer. Secret Hack: Saran wrap your tub or sink to minimize staining when you use Transylvania to bring your dark dreams to life! 💫🖤 Fading with Flair: Transylvania may fade to teal or green depending on your base color. To achieve a natural fade, add some orange! Orange neutralizes the blue, giving you a more neutral-toned fade. Transitioning colors? Use Purple AF to create a smooth bridge to a new hue. Gray Goals: Creating a smoky gray? Mixing Transylvania and Sterling might result in a navy tone. Here's the fix: Add a drop of Sunset Orange for every drop of Transylvania in your Sterling mix. This keeps the gray neutral as you darken it to a charcoal shade.
